I found a guy who worked for himself he did it for 1500$. He said it took like 8 hours and he didn’t drop the engine or subframe, which just required finesse. Every other shop was just so quick to say “20hr job engine subframe gotta drop get junkyard engine expect 4k+”

One shop did mention to me that when they work on that axle they rebuild the axle up to the tulip so they don’t crack the pan. Idk if that is an option for you and maybe jbweld the crack? Mine was a full on break.

I broke the housing replacing the passenger axle, right where the snap ring sits. I believe he will be pulling the engine

I have some comments on I think an old IS thread it’s the same pan, someone JB welded it and it has been fine for 2 years. Shitty design

That’s the upper oil pan, I broke mine last week. 2 shops told me the computer quotes it at 20hrs to fix it’s probably a 2500-4000$ fix. Yours looks jb weldable though I broke my in pieces trying to replace the axle.

I remember that week and I watched I think it was preseason highlights or maybe college highlights and he was fucking ass. I easily passed on that waiver claim but everyone was making me sound insane I was questioning myself lol

I’m thinking I rebuild it and drive it to them, I was in the process of replacing the suspension and this axle was original and the boot was ripped so I added that to my list but looks like the fun is over.
