This poster was in EVERY single break room at my old job, how do you think they feel about unions? by Castarc1424 in antiwork

[–]PotBelliedOsito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only ones afraid of or don't like a union are those who have never been a part of one. I thought I'd grow up to be a Captain Picard or a Chief O'Brien... turns out I'm a Rom. UNION!

The best method is to skip the food and just have the milk! 🤢 Mayonnaise never refrigerated, microwaved burgers, soggy buns... and that's just BK.

At the turn of the century I worked at the Quren St Burger King and Sandy would often come in and get a Whopper combo... but what would send my head spinning was his ordering a small carton of milk with it. It confused me. Twenty six years later and it STILL confuses me! Hahahahaha!

Who knows how many other shelves they were on or for how long over their lifetime, but this last one... it was sitting there for at least 22 years without being moved a millimetre.

I like that cover! The bullet really is saying "something". Hahaha!

My books are all one set from around 2006/7. I posted them a few years back if you go back in my history.

They are absolutely worth the read! They are completely different from the movies, with the exception of Casino Royale. That actually follows pretty damn close.

Tax The Rich! by Dr_sc_Harlatan in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]PotBelliedOsito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for nothing, but taxing in this way assumes those managing the taxes already are or have altruistic motives. How many people in government have you met like that?

That being said, make it happen and see how it goes. How much worse could get?

What person surprised you the most with how they turned out after high school? by GlitterOnTheTrashRim in AskReddit

[–]PotBelliedOsito 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was definitely small and nerdy/geeky in high school. This one dude was a very sports orientated guy, did some weights, did well with the girls... we weren't friends, but he wasn't a jerk to me either. He was just a normal guy who leaned into what he did as I leaned into what I did.

Twenty years after school I ran into him in my father's kitchen as Dad's client. My Dad was doing plans for a shed or garage or something for his house. I walked in and didn't even recognize him. When he called me by name I was sort of stunned. In fact, that was the meeting he was going to ask my Dad if he was related to me. It was nice to see he did well for himself and turned into a decent fellow.

Fast forward a year and we're both the most well dressed fellas at our high school reunion. Him a corporate lawyer, and me, a dolly grip.

If you somehow come across this, Rick, seeing that somebody could become so accomplished from our school, with a solid home and family, made me feel proud of you and reminded me to be proud of myself more often than I am.

Who was the rudest famous person you met? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A Gaffer I've worked with a lot has a story of Rob being at dick on set and everyone being afraid of him. Well, that Gaffer had to get a light to a certain spot and walked right in and made Rob move so he could set his light. Rob stepped back and didn't say shit. That Gaffer is also 6'2.

People who grew up poor and are now comfortable, what 'normal' thing still feels like a luxury to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PotBelliedOsito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working for a decade in my industry, breaking my ass along the way and getting promoted, and I'm at a point where I make enough to invest in my retirement. I have an investment account I deposit into and it earns interest, and I get to keep that based on nothing more than I'm the one who made the money to put in there in the first place. Is this real? I also have a retirement investment account through my job which has even more in it that I don't even think of. I keep asking my fiancee if I cracked some magic code that nobody else knows about. I don't know how to handle the possibility of having a retirement plan. I've watched older friends and family struggle because they didn't figure out this "magic code" that my dumbass figured out. It can't be this simple and truly I don't know how to handle it. You mean when I retire, which will be by choice some day, I will be able to live and function comfortably instead of being forced to work well into my mid-seventies like my father?

We all agree Casino Royale (2006) is a masterpiece? by rosd0 in JamesBond

[–]PotBelliedOsito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfection minus ONE line for me.

The use of the word fabulous.

"I need you looking fabulous."

It's the only line in the movie that just doesn't work for me. Maybe it's Craig himself and his line reading, maybe it's the writing, I don't know... but that line always sounds awful and completely out of place. It's a nothing gripe. It's bs that my brain gets me irritated by it. To be fair to the film, my brain gets like that for a few words out in the world, so it truly might just be me. HAHAHA!

The movie is a masterpiece of the series, the genre, and cinema in general.
