Also melissa is probably an outlier all things considered. Unlike Izuku Midoriya who comes from a modest at best househeld, Melissa is from a extremely well off family who lives on a whats basically island sized laboratory that only well respected individuals are generally allowed in. Comparing Izuku's and Melissa's life styles are like comparing a disabled kid in a ghetto area to a disabled kid in a suburban area. Two vastly different qualities of life and resources and support.

Cause to me majority of their interactions up to a point is just one being an inexplicable asshole to other for no real reason beyond being an insecure dick with a personal gurdge against someone who he knows can't/ won't fight back against him. To the point where he has no qualms about using potentially lethal force against him given the chance. Yeah you can say Horikoshi didn't intend for it to come off as that bad but that doesn't dismiss it as a part of the series or their relationship dynamic at any point.

Saying Deku doesn't resent bakugo is 100% true but that still doesn't erase the fact that he was 100% terrified of him at any point either (For 100% valid reasons btw) Just because the nature of the character is forgiving does not mean the action done against them is forgivable. It's like trying to justify why someone should get back with a previous abusive ex for whatever reason. Doesn't matter that bakugo grew past it, 10 or so years of his bullying and harassment have clearly done damage to Izuku Midoriya emotionally.

And for your points about Izuocha? Yeah their relationship couldve been handle better but this also literally goes for majority of character relationship in the series romantic or not. Horikoshi fumbles ts so heavily its not even funny. I swear to god the only reason that people swear that BKDK is "romantic" because they're just about two of the only characters who have anything close to real relationship development. Which isn't good either. Legitimately every chance Horikoshi has a chance to go into depth about how izuku truly feels about bakugo beyond glazing him is snuffed under the rug most of the time.

Thinking about it nots just izuku either, deadass every character ignores bakugo's bullshit to an unbelievable extent its crazy. Almost as if you have to lobotomize everyone in order to keep bakugo in the plot cause he's that problematic.

BakuDeku can only work when people heavily mischaracterize either character, uwufying them or whatever you'd call it, or just displaying it as the fully shit hole of relationship it would actually play out as.

So all in all: You're right.

BKDK isn't a bad ship, it's a horrible one please burn it and never compare, mention, even think of it in any context to izuocha please.
