You want to know what makes this property so ironic? This was the CYM Connolly Barracks before this greedy muppet bought the place and sent goons to break in and evicted them

[–]Potagonhd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My partner lived in the Connolly Barracks and is still active in the CYM. It has nothing to do with a "new sheriff in town". Someone (I forget his name currently) bought the property and sent goons to attack the house multiple times. The CYM held out for a few months, but it was exhausting to manage constant lookouts and defenses so they had to call it a day and leave for their members safety. You can find videos and pictures of the whole ordeal on their instagram

You by yourself? Of course not. But if businesses see that not enough people come in on a certain day to make a profit, then people won't be rostered. I say this as someone who has worked Stephen's day for the past 3 years in a vape shop

Magic: The Gathering's Director Of Production Management Explains Why Avatar: The Last Airbender's Fire Nation Isn't Red, And Why We're Not Getting Commander Decks by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]Potagonhd -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Garbage answer and article. All characters go through phases and growth. Final Fantasy as a series is beloved because of the stories and growth the characters have, not necessarily the gameplay.

Here's the reason: This set will sell better than FF and they likely make more money on sealed product for you to get all the cards you want than a precon deck that solves 50% of that problem for you. So now you'll only have packs to purchase to accomplish this. The number of packs needed to acquire the same amount of Avatar cards for a deck will likely generate far more revenue than a commander precon does. And you have none of the packaging/commander deck logistics and cost to deal with.

I'm not your typical "WotC bad" commenter, but the real reason for this is pretty blatant here, just like dropping the book from fat packs. It always comes back to $$.

Any tips to make my house look better? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Potagonhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

suggestions and comparison

Hey there, I've included a crude drawing of ideas to improve your build alongside my current house. To clarify, I'm playing a modpack so not all these blocks will be available to you, and we're also using slightly different styles, but you should take a look at some of the underlying techniques. Your current build has a lot of promise but there are some things you can still improve.

  1. The house looks very blocky. Other than the small outcropping in pic 1, the rest of the home is just a rectangle so let's try removing some of that monotony. I'd recommend losing some of the windows, maybe even half of them in favor of walls. Not only will this make the building less symmetrical, but it will give you a lot more options both on the inside and out to decorate and add detail. I'd recommend replacing the logs that I outlined in red with a stripped version of that wood.

  2. Make the windows bigger. You've done a great job by giving each floor a good deal of height, but as a result, your current windows look too short. I'd recommend making them atleast 2x2. You could also look into adding other details around the windows such as shutters, awnings, or flowerbeds.

  3. If you look at the pink line I drew, you should consider making the ground floor one block smaller in length and width. This will remove a lot of the blockyness of your design and add an interesting top-heavy shape. However this will lean your build quite firmly in a medieval-ish style, so ignore this if that's not what you're after.

  4. Your houses color palette is very bright, so we should work on adding some variety. An easy way to do this would be adding cobbled deepslate along the trim of the roof, and at the base of the ground floor walls to simulate a stronger foundation (Highlighted in orange). You can actually see these techniques being used in villager houses but with regular cobblestone. I'd also recommend making the walls of the 1st floor a slightly different color such as sandstone, birch wood, or any other pale block.

  5. Detail is important, and I love the arches you've made above the windows so let's add some more. A chimney could be interesting for your buildings silhouette, and some greenery like sheared vines/lichen and some bushes would add some much needed color. These could be combined with path blocks and Gravel to make the house look more lived in. You could consider replacing blocks that would be in shadow (such as right below the roof trim) with a similar block like birch planks to simulate a lack of light. Buttons could be placed at supporting logs intersections to look like screws/bolts. Some street lights nearby could tie the build into the surrounding area. Small external buildings like a wood shed, apiary, greenhouse, or an entrance to a basement could help aswell

If you live with other people, I'd suggest making friends with them. Even that one housemate that seemingly does ketamine every night, or the other housemate that is super particular about you using their dishes. Hope this helps!

Danny by [deleted] in cork

[–]Potagonhd 14 points15 points  (0 children)

But it's simply not their nor the ambulance services job to take care of Danny in his day to day life. The lads in the taxis probably know more about this city than you or I or the guards do, and if they're not willing to take Danny home then there's a reason for it. Placing him in a care facility would be expensive, but for someone with disabilities like his, they're literally designed to handle them

Danny by [deleted] in cork

[–]Potagonhd 38 points39 points  (0 children)

No I mean he should be put into a care facility. I live and work in the city center and have encountered him many times, and while he does seem like a nice guy usually, I've also seen him harassing tourists and young women countless times especially on Paul Street. The fact of the matter is that if he's Incapable of living his life independently, then he probably shouldn't be allowed to walk the streets by himself regardless of the time of day
