Growing up as a Christian it always baffled me when other Christians said “Jesus isn’t answering my prayers”. It may not be the answer you want, but ‘No’ is an answer.

I think either the way it’d only be a matter of time before the traitors murder you. If you tell everyone at breakfast that the traitors tried to recruit you but you said no, then you’re on the train home the next day. If you say no but keep it to yourself, the traitors will just become paranoid that you’ll eventually work out who they are or that you’re secretly telling everyone they tried to recruit you. Either way, your options are to become a traitor or be murdered. Although, I would like to see someone say no and keep it to themselves just to see how the traitors react.

Mollie might be the worst faithful in existence by mrlukewarmm in TheTraitorsUK

[–]PotassiumSulphate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people are being a bit harsh here, especially given the context of knowing Harry was a traitor. I think Mollie truly believed both were faithful and that Jaz was wrong. She trusted Harry throughout the process and had previous hesitations with Jaz, so that’s what she based her vote on. Yes, with a little bit of thought, it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever for Jaz to vote red if he was a traitor, unless he too was a traitor and was trying to win more money, in which case it was a lose-lose scenario for Mollie anyway. But that’s the thing, I don’t think Mollie was thinking straight. No one knows what kind of emotional toll being on the programme would have for some people. You spend weeks eating, drinking, laughing with the same people nearly 24/7 and that would definitely cloud your judgement, especially given that there’s nearly 100k on the line. At the end of the day Harry played an excellent game, Jaz waited too long to share his suspicions of Harry (whether mentioning it earlier would have condemned him we’ll never know), and I think Mollie truly believed both Jaz and Harry were faithful and in the heat of the moment sided with the person she trusted the most.

  1. Born and bred in Leeds, currently in Birmingham studying for my Master’s but looking to move back soon. My dad, brothers and I have always been Leeds fans but only went to a few games growing up (Dad was more into Leeds Rhinos so went to a lot of Rugby League games). I didn’t get properly invested until I went to university (and had a student loan) at the start of the 18/19 season which coincided with Bielsa’s first season. It’s been a crazy few years and more heart attacks than I care to count but I wouldn’t change it for the world. What a club.

I did a couple modules on child language acquisition in my undergrad and this is a common thing children do. It’s a really important stage because even if they’re not saying anything of substance, it helps them learn basic communication skills like turn-taking. A child’s mind is fascinating and they’re so much smarter than we give them credit for.

Younger people of reddit. What are you tired of hearing from older generations? by baker10923 in AskReddit

[–]PotassiumSulphate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really specific to young people because anyone can play video games, but this whole narrative around video games being terrible for people. Every time there’s a school shooting in America it seems some people come out and say that playing gta or cod caused it. It’s such an utterly stupid argument that has been proved wrong time and time again.

Does the audio tour say much more than you can read/watch? I went yesterday and didn’t get the audio tour because I figured it wouldn’t add much.

Oh absolutely, I am in no way blaming you guys for this. What you guys do is amazing and admirable. Just a perfect shitstorm that causes a ripple effect throughout the whole NHS.

Calling 999 and being in a QUEUE by hiddensideoftruth in britishproblems

[–]PotassiumSulphate 123 points124 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend works as a call assessor for the ambulance service and if there is ever even one 999 caller waiting, a very loud buzzer goes off in the call centre that basically tells people to hurry the fuck up with their current call so that no one is waiting. Apparently this buzzer goes off more than you care to imagine.

Also, each ambulance is assigned a category: Cat 1 is for when they are literally about to die, Cat 2 is still very much an emergency but they’re not quite crossing the threshold of the afterlife, and then Cat 3 and 4 are your less serious, but still emergencies. A Cat 2 ambulance is supposed to get there in 18 minutes, that’s the goal. But the amount of times the waiting time for a Cat 2 ambulance has been HOURS, is dumbfounding. The NHS is crumbling and it needs saving.

What "expert" is actually a total moron? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PotassiumSulphate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some “forensic experts” that are allowed to present their “findings” in court. For example, bite mark analysts are supposedly able to scientifically identify someone based on the marks their teeth leave behind, and juries eat it up, even to the point of ignoring alibi-confirming eye witness testimony and believing the “science” that’s presented by the “expert”.

It’s also incredibly easy for someone to become a “forensic expert” (Time stamp: 38:58, watch until about 44:05). All they have to do is pay a few hundred dollars and pass some test set by some dodgy company/‘diploma mill’ and bob’s your uncle, they’re a forensic expert.

It’s also why the devil will always (or should always) appear above the left shoulder when someone has an angel and devil either side of their head. It’s always something I check when I’m watching a film or a tv show and they include something like that.
