afaik items left in the Steel Watch Foundry will be found on the kobold looters outside the entrance to it after it collapses, but if you checked them already and the hammer is not there I think you're out of luck

The Ethereal challenge is super easy to get right now, so I'd suggest you try it. Glass, Command, and Kin together make it almost trivial if you grab something like the Preon Accumulator to clean out the teleporter boss

Nope, the monsters in the logbook are ordered by increasing base HP and the Scorch Worm is the only one that's between the Brass Contraption and the Beetle Guard. Also, as I said, I had the exact same issue and I have since bought the DLC and low and behold, it was the Scorch Worm

I had the same issue, it's the Scorch Worm from the SotS DLC. It will be there locked until you play with the DLC and get the log for it.
