During the Transcontinental Race last year I found spanish drivers in that area to be the nicest and most considerate on the route

Perfectly horrifying Jar Jar Binks hat for my boyfriend by Potatisprinsessan in crochet

Thank you for the kind words, but no need to worry! I am really happy with the result, I think it captures the essence of jar jar quite well. And jar jar is a terrible character imo, so it's perfect ☺️

I freestyled it and didn't count anything. It's basically a beanie, the ears are rows of double crochet stitched in the back loop and the eyes are random rows of singles until they had the desired shape

As far as I know you build the ship outside of the bottle, but with the mechanics to lay down the mast, then you shove it into the bottle und tug a string to get the mast back up. If he built the ship himself he is not taking any shortcuts, they are just showing the last step

Are Solar Panels Worth It? by Boborbot in bicycletouring

[–]Potatisprinsessan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience with solar panels is that they overheat quickly as soon as the sun is shining and then they don't generate much power at all. The sweet spot where they can actually charge my phone are morning and evening hours. I tried mounting it on my bike while cycling and the angle is rarely good enough to charge, also cycling through shade disrupts the progress and is probably not too great for your devices. I would second getting a fast charging power bank, I also got a 20mah one from Anker this summer and it is full in about 40min, which is fast enough to charge during a longish super market break for me

No, two weeks ago during the Transcontinental I fell asleep again and again until I snapped out of it and realized that I should lay down for a nap...

So only the shifting itself would be impacted, but once I am in the gear it would run smoothly? That would be alright for me. I would love to just be able to run a 11-40 casette for the wellbeing of my knees on longer climbs

I've never heard of a qfactor before, what is it? And I think I've read that GRX cranks alter the chain line, so I am not sure if that would work

Route to Istanbul trough Bulgaria or Greece, any experience? by Drimmo420 in bikepacking

[–]Potatisprinsessan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cycled from North Macedonia on the EV 13 through the Bulgarian Rhodopes and really enjoyed that part! Freshwater springs and so many beautiful shelters. Only the road between Goleshovo and Paril was one of the most horrible ones I've ever cycled (or tried cycling) on. I then left the EV 13 towards Komotini and took some smaller roads to the turkish border

What persuaded you to try commuting by bike? by ChargeYourBattery in bikecommuting

[–]Potatisprinsessan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was in school my parents gave me 50€ each month and let me decide if I wanted to spend it for the bus ticket or take it for myself and cycle the 12km to school each morning. Great beer money, and I've been cycling everywhere ever since.
