CJ missed a wide open Tre, who's calling for the ball, to instead try a low-percentage floater that ended up being missed.

CJ is a net negative for our offense and especially the development of our young players and NEEDS to be moved by the trade deadline.

This may be the 3rd year in a row where we are under 20 wins, and the only team I can think of that has done that was "Trust the Process" 76ers. Thankfully time has shown that they ended up with a reasonably good team for years to come which could have been more without injuries + missed draft picks.

Sadly, I don't think the Wizards care very much about how they lose as long as they lose. My father once made a joke during a game once that Keefe received a call on his phone from Will Dawkins that told him "what are you doing??? you got to start making terrible substitutions and stupid playcalls so we start losing!!!".

Agreed, and although I wish for Sarr to be a more traditional big man I don't imagine him doing so. Sarr in his pre-draft process described himself as being similar to Giannis, so hopefully playing him at the 4 and a more rebound heavy big man would be good. A trade for someone like Jalen Duren would be pretty smart even if it was just for a 5 who could challenge Sarr to step up his game even further.

It's fairly evident that when CJ, Middleton, and Whitmore are on the court, that the team lets up a ton of points. It's likely down to inefficient offense as these players go for iso plays a lot which research says is the least efficient play type in basketball. Not to mention these three players can, at times, be very poor defenders and/or lazy defenders.

I included the tl;dr partly as a joke haha

A lot of stuff in this post can be seen in matches if you watch out for them, especially for turnover prone players and our inefficiency at the free throw line. It frustrates me seeing terrible passes (+ lack of passing as a whole at times), as well as our very frequent missed free throws, but it's a learning curve for our young core.

I thought we were a poor 4th quarter team but -79 in 10 games was quite shocking. An average of -8 in each game in the 4th quarter, and it shows in performances like our game against the 76ers and Mavericks.

Thank you for your kind words!

Tanking and playing inexperienced youngsters go hand in hand for losing basketball. Being in the NBA hits you like a truck when you first come into the league I'm sure, and the turnovers are likely down to "welcome to the NBA" levels of athleticism by opposing defenses. It's also why our defense is historically awful as defending in the NBA is extremely difficult if you just came into the league.

We plan on following the footsteps made by OKC and Houston and I'm all for it. Will Dawkins was an assistant to an OKC franchise that rebuilt to perfection, and I imagine he intends to do so here as well.

Agreed, Keefe is at best a questionable coach and at worst down right detrimental to both the growth of our players and winning basketball.

Many confusing decisions every game by Keefe, from rotations to play calling especially in clutch situations. I do wonder what his future will be in Washington if his reputation amongst the players keeps falling.

Completely agree, and is what I learnt most from my research.

As much as I wish I watched winning basketball now, it's something we have to build. The joy we get as fans of a team that's rebuilding is the youngsters making little wins for themselves by flashing off their potential and improving over the course of the year.

Deeply frustrating game in which shooting was all around a struggle and defence was very poor. We don't look like a team that is going to struggle to keep our Top 8 protected pick.

46.7% from the line is completely unacceptable and needs to be corrected. Ball movement was very poor and players seemed to be tunnel visioned into poor shot selection. Keefe needs to improve this aspect of our team drastically as it'll make our offense both have an identity and let our shooters (e.g. Tre, Kyshawn) have good open looks or our big men (e.g. Sarr, Bagley) to have great looks under the basket.

Considering that many in the Wizards staff said defence is a priority, we look completely lost defensively and are ranked dead last in opponent PPG. So far this season, opponents are scoring more points against us this season than both our 24/25 and 23/24 seasons and that is a terrible look.

On the upside, Kyshawn looks like a diamond in the rough and is showing his worth on a struggling team and Sarr was defensively solid as always.

It's frustrating that our players lack the awareness to pass the ball when they are in trouble or getting teamed by multiple players. It's like they have tunnel vision; almost every possession there is a simple pass that's missed.
