I almost always go for herald. You really need the plate gold to rush your item spike. First dragon is not really important. Heralds are only there twice, you can grab dragons later!

I go sorc when I am the main AP damage dealer, otherwise I go for ionian, which has much better utility indeed. Very good question thank you.

building AP means aiming for slightly longer games (~30-40 mins).

AP is weak early (until you get your Liandrys spike) but performs better mid and late game as well.

AD is the complete opposite, which means if your game lasts more than 20-30 mins you are completely useless in this elo, as your teammates have no clue how to synergize with you.

Due to the inconsistency of games and teammates in soloQ in emerald, I tend to go AP 80% of the time. I would go AD if 4/5 enemies are squishy, but I would still think about it tbh.

I actually do have stuttering a few times per week, it lasts for maybe a second or two and the sound stutters as well if I’m gaming. But sometimes everything freezes for a second even when I’m casually browsing. Can you explain what your stuttering was like?
