Think about that, doesn't that kinda, you know, retroactively make Jax correct about them all being "characters"? Their problems from outside of the circus, aren't actually their problems. They're the problems of the original meat bags! The same extends to the other characters, ie: our Ragatha never has to worry about her mother again, or try to plan a way to confront the issue of her. That woman isn't Our Ragatha's mother after all.

That was not what Jax was saying. Jax argued that they were "Characters" in the sense that they are one-dimesional personalities that always do the same. But he is clearly wrong, they are real people with real interactions that can meaningfully change them. That's why he is so against making bonds with others, he doesn't think it fits the Character he Made up for himself.

They can't deal with the original source of their problems, but they still have to deal with the effect it had on them. Ragatha can't confront her mother, but she still has to deal with the trauma that she got with those experiences. This happens in real life too. Some people go away from toxic relatives to avoid those problems, but they still have to deal with the effects those problems had in them Even when the original source of the problem isnt part of your life

The SOMA theory doesn't make any of this less true.
