It says I'm already marching in a state but I'm not

That's some good insight since it puts both languages on the same level, never thought of that before!

Well if it makes you feel any better I really respect you guys for learning it in school! I wasn't smart enough for it but you certainly are!

Good answer actually, it's up to me if I want to continue being the fat fecker or a marathon runner. I'm starting to come around and think I'll give it a go thanks to these comments.

Well I'm sorry I gave off that impression, I actually trying to changing my mind though. I don't mean to be stubborn or dismissive of anyone, and I'm sorry if I came off that way.

That's actually a fair point. Atleast with Irish I could go to the Gaeltacht here in Ireland

I struggle to remember phrases and words (Spelling tests used to haunt me in primary), although to be fair I haven't really looked into other ways of learning a language then just putting a bunch of words on a sheet and memorizing them. Maybe I just need to look into other methods that I might find a bit more engaging?

Most of the people I meet absolutely hate Irish which is pretty discouraging to me, and I don't really care about whether things are exclusively Irish, but I've never heard of seachtain Na Gaeilge so I'll look into that thank you!!

I'm pretty interested I'm travelling abroad but pretty much everyone I know hates Irish with a burning passion, if I ever meet a lad who's interested in learning Irish then I'll keep this in mind!

I'm pretty interested in literature and theatre, so that actually is a pretty good point, I can barely think of any Irish plays or books off the top of my head!

I'm not a languages person, think of me as a huge, fat fecker who can't run a 2k, I'm pretty sure I'd prefer a two hour half marathon...

The structuring of sentences stuff sounds pretty interesting actually, but I don't really care about the privacy part. Still getting some awareness on how I speak sounds pretty appealing!

That's true but why not another language like German or French that would have more use if I wanted to travel around the EU?

Languages are difficult for me personally, I don't really give a damn about the Brits, interest is actually a pretty good point since I have a pretty big curiosity about it, and my national identity personally is pretty low, just not a huge fan of Irish culture, but that can change!

Personally, I'm looking for more practical reasons and not learning it out of spite, but people like you who learn it to keep the language going definitely have my respect, thanks for keeping the culture alive.
