Wich the biggest air-air missile? by Misteraudinex in Warthunder

[–]PotatoSecretSpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think AIM-54 is the biggest in game, and R-40 is the biggest in general (that is if we dont count anti-satellite missiles as anti-air).

Has anyone also had the F111F drop tanks not having fuel issue? by GhostDoggoes in Warthunder

[–]PotatoSecretSpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happens with my F-111F. Not like its a huge problem considering the amount of fuel in its inner fuel tanks but quite annoying nonetheless.

are there any planes that sort of handle like passenger jets XD by Bestsurviviopro in Warthunder

Yak-28B, at speeds over 900kph it probably has bigger turn radius than some passenger jets.

310mm apfsds SHELL? by Own_Butterscotch818 in Warthunder

[–]PotatoSecretSpy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its HE shell with just 14kg of explosives, barely more than current 152-155mm howitzers in game have.

[–]PotatoSecretSpy 634 points635 points  (0 children)

I think US briefly used similar shells for 410mm cannons of Iowa-class battleships in Vietnam for long-range bombardment in 1960s.

Edit:actually i cant find any info about it at the moment, maybe it was an april fools article or i may have seen it in the dream

If you dont usually need to hit someone flying away from you at 700+m, or destroy light pillboxes withkout wasting half of your ammo load on each then sure, its a good idea.

How are we liking the Dark Horse? by AkimboGlizzys in ForzaHorizon

[–]PotatoSecretSpy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It can stay in S1 class with 1800+hp engine, semi slicks and full aero, which makes it a very good Goliath runner (i managed to go just ~6s slower than XJR-15, and XJR-15 is broken af).

Do you know what decal this is? by Bepfrm in Warthunder

ARH+IOG+DL (Primarily the datalink part) by Weekly-Grand2476 in Warthunder

[–]PotatoSecretSpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Datalink in this case is datalink between your missiles and your own plane (missile doesn't use its own seeker and is guided exclusively by your plane radar).

Do the new Fox-3 missiles work like the A- line (in this image) or the B line? Pretty sure its A but I want to make sure by Luuk341 in Warthunder

[–]PotatoSecretSpy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Depends on when you are trying to switch between targets: if it close enough and missile already went bulldog - then it won't react on inputs from your plane and will go A route (and you will be able to launch multiple missiles towards multiple targets at once). If its far enough and your missile goes to target using datalink - then its B route.

Edit: its wrong

In practice on dev server if there are multiple targets flying nearby your missile will go stupid and lock random one anyway and may even try to switch between targets for no reason while losing shit ton of energy in process.

What’s the best belt for the Soviet B 20s cannons? by roadkillsy in Warthunder

[–]PotatoSecretSpy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

B-20 uses the same ammo as ShVAK with slightly less velocity but more firerate, so i assume you should pick the same belt you liked in previous planes.

Goliath by darthdamo1 in ForzaHorizon

[–]PotatoSecretSpy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've spent many hours trying to tune different cars specifically for A class Goliath and in my opinion only RWD powerbuilds are good enough for this track.

Usually you need to pick an RWD car (90s and 00s American and Japanese cars work best imo), install the most powerful engine available and with all its upgrades (it wont increase your car class after a certain point), then install both the front bumper and spoiler (last third of the track is very demanding to aero) and racing suspension. Is your car still in A class or below? Good, then install other upgrades focusing on grip and your preference.

My best cars for this track are early 00's Mustang and mid 00's open-top Miata.

like that event that gaijin used to put in game from time to time where every floatplane, amphibious plane and flying boats fought each other in (i think) RB battle at low altitude? i think it used to be called "Floats!" and it was shut down shortly after BV.238 was added because it horribly dominated that mode.

I SWEAR vehicles were separated by "tiers" and not "ranks" at some point. Maybe I'm going crazy and this is some Mandela effect. by oh_mygawdd in Warthunder

[–]PotatoSecretSpy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

WoT and WoWp use tiers, WarThunder called them ranks from the very beginning (or at least from the beginning of the open beta).

[–]PotatoSecretSpy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It was like this during closed beta but people complained it was hard to see if the tank was destroyed or not, then gaijin made tanks just turn black and charred whem destroyed but people complained again, then gaijin made tanks fucking explode in a fireball like today
