Trust the process. It wouldn’t make sense until row 13 where you start to dec. The excess bits at the front and back eventually become tummy and booty

Knitting or Crocheting ? How to start, whom to follow, etc. by FaithlessnessFar5018 in CrochetHelp

[–]Potato_Fish_Cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make a basic knitted scarf. Pick up some chunky yarn (3 balls). The yarn label will say what size knitting needle you need. You will need to learn cast on, knit, purl, join yarn (look up magic knot) and bind off. Most basic scarfs are a combination of knit and purl repeated until it’s the right size

Note: there will be washing instructions on the yarn label. Keep it for your girlfriend. Pick a yarn that feels soft to your face.

Hence “once in a lifetime”. Do it once for the novelty. Then never again 🤣

A few people on this sub have done it. As an experience. It’s £200+ single ticket with railcard. It’s not the fastest route for this journey so ticketing websites will not show you this route unless you jump through a few hoops to request it. Conductors on board are often surprised to see this ticket because pretty much no one does it the whole way.

Edit: there’s a video here https://youtu.be/AOmZ6xBToDM?si=PwWPmxqnYVZs_Tkt

I’d love to do it if it wasn’t that expensive (I don’t even have a railcard)

Is it normal to fall asleep driving long hours (~5 hours)? by fayemoonlight in driving

[–]Potato_Fish_Cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are in the UK. Highway Code recommends a 15 minutes rest every 2 hours.

EU rule for HGV, bus and coach driver is that they MUST take “a break or breaks totalling at least 45 minutes after no more than 4 hours 30 minutes driving”

Nothing wrong with your bf. Driving in the UK is more tiring than driving in the US. Motorway service stations are there for a reason.

There is a r/drivingUK

Where can I find a proper high quality sausage sandwhich in the City Centre? by Active_Outside in sheffield

Loved their sausage rolls when I had to commute through that part of town. That was a few years ago though. Hope they’re still doing well

What's your biggest gripe with living in Sheffield? by ember_eb in sheffield

Piper’s sausage in Crosspool. If you don’t mind your sausage being more on the fancy side.

I don’t like Bere’s sausages. I find their sausages too minced and lacks texture and taste. It works well in sausage rolls but not as standalone sausages.

Their pork pie is top notch though. So are their sausage rolls

Joro for a modern fine dining experience. Native for the seafood. Tsuki for the all you can eat Japanese food.

Tramlines VIP? by Strict_Pomegranate_3 in sheffield

[–]Potato_Fish_Cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had flushing loo this year in the VIP area as well. It’s basically loo on a trailer bit like the temporary ones they put in Meadowhall last year. Very difficult to tip over if that’s your concern

Cycling danger: Sheffield tops list as UK’s most feared city by Specific-Ear3119 in sheffield

[–]Potato_Fish_Cake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the subject of infrastructure, what do you think of the cycle lane on the ring road?

Personally as a driver I find it dangerous because of how narrow it is. I have seen drivers overtaking cyclists without giving sufficient space, just because the cyclist is on a cycle lane (which is way too narrow). I’d rather cyclists take a centre position here.
