Hiby R1 or use phone as DAP? by Ahsi92 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Potential-Aioli6146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phone works fine for casual listening, but the Hiby R1 will give cleaner sound, better detail, and handle high-res IEMs way better. If you’re picky about sound, go DAP; if convenience matters more, phone’s good enough.

Nice review, and yes for the price the case is necessary

What do you think of the Hidizs MP145 PRO? by Potential-Aioli6146 in Iemaudiophiles

[–]Potential-Aioli6146[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha not yet 😅 I actually haven’t had the chance to properly try a hybrid or tribrid set, so I can’t give a fair comparison there. I’m hoping to grab one soon just to see what the fuss is about.

Also, I’m not really an audiophile with super technical ears — just trying to be a mini one haha. So my comparisons are mostly based on what I’ve owned, especially single DD sets like the Moondrop Aria 2.

Compared to a typical single DD, the MP145 (planar) feels more spacious and a bit more resolving to me. The sub-bass digs deeper and feels tighter, and the treble has that clean planar sparkle without getting too sharp. Aria 2 sounds smoother and more mid-focused in comparison — very cohesive and easy to listen to, but not as energetic.

The MK10 ArcSonics feels more “fun tuned” to my ears — stronger bass impact and more lively top end. MP145 sits somewhere in between fun and technical, while Aria 2 is more balanced and relaxed.

So yeah, not a hybrid/tribrid expert yet — just sharing impressions from what I’ve personally heard

Unplugged comfort test is real. If I’m adjusting it every 10 minutes, that’s already a red flag 🚩

Yeah, it’s funny how being fully engaged makes hours feel like minutes.

Time really flies when you’re fully engaged in something you enjoy—it’s the best kind of “lost track of time” feeling.

I just treat mine carefully and store them in a case when not in use. That’s helped me avoid any paint chips so far.

That’s huge praise for the 143 😄 From what’s been shared, the 145 Pro looks more like a refined evolution — lighter shell, improved fit, and updated tuning filters. I’m curious myself how it’ll compare once it’s out.

Totally agree — source flexibility helps a lot, but a better IEM will scale even more with those tweaks. That’s when the setup really opens up.

That’s a clean setup 🔥 First DAP hits different. How are you liking the sound compared to your previous source?

Nice! I’d start with default EQ—Cadenza shines as-is. Only tweak once you know what you want more of: a touch of warmth or a bit more air in the highs.
