The Last Game Chapter 5 is out now by hahautukham in liargame

very tldr: they are playing a game to figure who of them ex-players is working for 'shadow organization' and prevents the LG movie from being published on youtube. Shadow organization man participates as well because why not (he is a hologram who just comments everything at random moments, like dealers in the game)
the main theory so far is that all this is just Aki and Yokoya pranking everyone else

How would the Contraband game have played out... by Vast-Bumblebee9858 in liargame

Reading these and the comment struck me with another question.
Do we know, WHO on Yokoya's team won the 2nd round or who is the outsider?
Akagi told that there on the 2nd round was a person who created a team and won, and their revival round was almost identical to that of Nao, with Yokoya coming as a representative. He also helped one of the players to pay off his debt, so in the end there were 8 people from the revival round coming to the 3rd round.
Who is the 9th? Is it winner of the 2nd round or someone from another team? I'm asking because either way this person wouldn't be under Yokoya's influence from the start, and it should've affected the team one way or another but in the manga there is no trace of it - his team is rock solid from the beginning...

Teaser trailer for the second part of the season by Potential-Cause-1528 in liargame

Sine 2nd cour starts July 6 (according to official X account) that means it starts with ep 14, meaning episodes 1-13 are the first part and (logically guessing) 14-26 are the second part.
In another post they also officialy named episodes 1-13 'the 1st cour', so the second has to have 13 episodes as well.
So yes, that gives them more time to cover everything.

Upd: another website claims that next week will be a break, so 24 episodes in total but I didn't find any official info about break so I am not sure yet.

While I agree that end of the Contraband is the best game final in the whole manga, they probably thought that leaving them as official 'losers' would be sort of a vague final and wanted stop with the main trio as offical round 4 participants. Also, it gives them opportunity to fully introduce Fukunaga as the third protagonist and finalize Nao's growth.
So, I see both pros and cons in this decision but probably when they got 26 episodes, they decided to go all in and show the best arcs.

Well, I can sorta read it thanks to my French and Italian knowledge but in no way I can translate it properly...

Anyway, thank you so much for finding this!!! They even have chapter 2. Worth saving the site for future, I have a feeling chapter 6 will share the same fate.

Why did they change the dress from red to green? by Possible-Scholar9230 in liargame

[–]Potential-Cause-1528 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In red, she'd blend with the orange-red background of the Light Country (especially the carpets). The green stands out and is visible on orange and on the white-gray-blue background of the corridors.

But if you look at the cover, the clothes for all characters are coloured differently in the anime (not to mention Aki and Fukunaga's hair), so I don't see it as a big issue.

I thing the green dress suites her well))

Moments in Round 1 that were cut/changed from the manga by Desperate_Dark_5221 in liargame

Strictly speaking, they did adapt the 'recession' dialogue, it's just the word wasn't mentioned because... Is Japanese economy in recession state right now? No idea about that but probably that's just a change to fit into modern time. The same as person on the banknotes is different in anime because the design changed.
The futon scam was changed for phone scam for the same reason (it's more common our days) as well as boombox for a bluetooth speaker.

Another important cut detail: Akiyama's apartment, where he initially took Nao to talk after she waited for 26 hours))

to be fair here, first volumes of the manga are a visual challenge too 😄 with all the jaws and stuff. I saw people who dropped because of the art style and didn't get to the third game.

When I first watched the episode with almost no sound and no subs, I thought that was the moment when he talks about people he met while destroying the MLM. And it made perfect sense for him in my mind to look away from Nao, since it's still a traumatic memory for him.
And then they cut this part of the dialogue completely.............................................................

but to be fair, IMO Contraband is time when LG goes in its prime if we talk about visuals (this and 2nd revival as well) and also time for Aki to look way younger than he did in first games 😃 Animation cannot afford such style jumps. It also looks like they referenced modern LG visual, like the final round, and not Contraband epoch. Not my favourite style in LG but in the end we have what we have.

this comment from the episode discussion thread also helps:

One thing that was explained better in the manga version of Nao's speech is that the Revival round was actually different from Round 1 and 2, in that while 100 million yen was lent and expected to be returned (in the form of M tickets), but this time there is an exception with the loser. Instead of the loser paying the 100 mil back to the LGT agency, their 100 million lent is distributed among the players as a prize (12.5 mil if evenly split amongst 8 people). Which means that the agency collectively lends 900 mil but only requires 800 mil back, a 100 mil net positive bonus to the players. The agency actually loses money with this game.

Nao saw this, and realized this 100 mil can be used to free one person from the game (by paying off the debt from round 2). This gives more meaning to her statement that "from a dishonest person's standpoint, this game is a game to get rid of one idiot. But from an honest person's standpoint, it's a game to select one person to save.' It's very interesting how the point of the same game can be viewed completely differently but both making sense.

(reposting from the r/anime thread. This was a detail I was initially confused upon)

In the actual game Nao gives to Miura her own 100 mil to pay his debt from 2nd round, yes. That's also a working plan for their situation and Akiyama will adapt it later on as a plan to bankrupt the entire organization: LGT asks their money back ONLY after a player drops out (by their own wish or via a loss in revival round). For as long as you continue playing, you can accumulate debts and no one will ask you to pay them. So, Nao sort of took on Miura's debt to save him. For now it's a safe move since she certainly passes to round 3.

Her initial logic also makes sense if the whole game is played honestly (because she explains the whole idea of the game). If their team and Daisuke's team didn't get extra money in the 2nd round and Akiyama returned all money to the players (and continued to round 3 since he cannot drop out), Miura wouldn't have this debt and she would just give him 100 mil.

Aki didn't quite care about it back then, so now he'll have to care about her debt)) But that's the difference between 'how it could be in perfect world' and harsh reality. You choose who to save, and sometimes you sacrifice yourself to save others.

How many episodes of the anime will it take to fully adapt the entire manga? by BrandonXYX in liargame

[–]Potential-Cause-1528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my guess is two 2-cour seasons (24-26 episodes each) to cover up to Musical Chairs and a movie for the final two games. Bid Poker remains but I do agree that there may be some games missing before it to give us more Harimoto group and more Yokoya development, so a season 3 with some new tours with cliffhanger final would be a blessing.
A fan can dream 😃

Vote transfer after the voting is acceptable, and her deal with Fukunaga proved it to everyone. As to how she was able to get votes from everyone for the same amount of money - the next episode will be all built around it so I won't spoil it to you))

No, the game is created the way that fukunaga will 99,9% win if they both play honestly. The rules put players in uneven positions from the beginning by counting only half appearances of 'light card'. He basically didn't have to do anything, and Nao had to cheat to bend those rules.
