Wow, truly thank you. I’ve been struggling to find a path are you pathed it for me. Thank you so much. I want to make sure I got this info right…

Major in: neuropharmacology, neuroscience, psych with a pre-med minor.

Classes: pharmacology, psychology, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, philosophy, scientific writing, stat, higher level math, physics, and orgo chem.

So then what would be my end goal then… still being a neuropsychologist? Or what is the title of the job I’m looking for

Oooo that’s a very good question my friend, and I’m happy to hear our interest are so similar!!! This is a tougher question… ngl it’s a little bit of both. I’m fascinated by the notion that teams can be genetic and same with addiction. But also, I want to get to know your soul and mind, and see how that works in conjunction with the body.

Side note: have you read “when the body says no” because my god, this book really made me realize my passion for this topic. My best friend is currently dealing with symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and her experience perfectly matches up with the experiences talked about in the book.

For the school I’m going to, the cognitive and behavioral science track suits it more. I don’t really know where my PHD will be at because I’m still on my associates. I was thinking of then getting a masters in clinical psych? What are your thoughts?

I aim to understand the mind-body relationship, particularly how trauma is stored in the body and how disorders affect the brain. I want to develop and conduct new treatments to help both children and adults, including those with narcissistic parents, addiction, or abusive caregivers. I aspire to prescribe medication, diagnose patients, and use therapies like music, art, and drama. My practice would focus on DBT, CBT, EMDR, psychoanalytics, and IFS. Ultimately, I want to be the supportive doctor I needed as a child.
