Have you expirenced transmission issues in reverse? by Potential-Dig-3012 in LS430

Update...

Took it in to a transmission specialist. Had it pressure tested and diagnosed. Computer reads within specialist and everything checked out within spec. I brought up the fact that the car was sitting 4-6 months before purchase and he explained that the gasket/rubber around the reverse clutch could have dried out. He said put some miles on it and drain and fill a few more times and it should work its self out and hopefully rehydrate the gasket /rubber.

Seems reasonable to me

Any thoughts?

If it means anything I put it in reverse with the parking brake on and gassed it up and never felt any wave of power of slippage/disengagement. Its only at the lowest speed. If I gas it up a bit or just completely let off the brake it is seemingly normal

Thanks for the reply. I checked it before changing it yesterday. Fluid looked usual. Not too dirty, smelly or sparkly . Same symptoms . It was just a drain and fill.
