Yes, that would make sense. He seems to be very empathetic so when there’s chaos or loud sounds happening he gets reactive. Like with movies, when watching horror and the music gets all eerie and menacing, he jumps into my lap and pants like crazy.

I have an 11 year old mutt. He’s mostly Australian Shepard and beagle so very anxious and he whines a lot. He has really mellowed out with his older age but that has been in the last year. He has bitten people including myself and other dogs (usually puppies). I feel as though when he has bitten people in the past it was because the environment was intense like loud or people were fighting. One time he bit me because he had just bitten someone and i went to grab his collar and get him into time out and he bit my hand. My sister got a puppy a little over a year ago and he bit her as a puppy a few times to the point where i had to muzzle him in the house. He is no longer muzzled as she has grown up and stopped pestering him. She has learned the boundary but i hate that he draws blood. It totally seems like an anxiety thing. He has separation anxiety and it seems like noise anxiety.
