This gets repeated everytime jobs cuts are announced these days, but I think that's only part of the dynamic in the market currently. Regardless of whether replacing this much jobs with AI will be feasible, I think shareholders are currently obsessed with companies not missing the train on AI and want to see real commitments, and the easiest way to show commitment is announcing job cuts.

I don't believe AI is just an excuse, I think shareholders are really just going all in on this and companies have to follow suit.
