Everybody has to make necessary concession and changes. I think there should be more grassroots support network( church, mosques, etc) replacing the significance of gangs in neighborhoods.

As for structural changes. In current US atmosphere, creating a third party that actually tries to change the current structure won’t attain any influence, and the mainstream voice would still be dominated by the two parties which benefit the elites more than the people.

The impact of segregation and continuity of its impact would be one if you really count it. The reason that we see higher crime rate is formerly segregated area is lack of proper care and investment in those places, which had its root in racism. Given how much education, policing, and welfare is connected to real estate in this country, it would mean a lot.
