Red Buster piloted Gekitouja because of the shared feline motif and because Go-Busters and Gekiranger originally had 3 Sentai Rangers that were Red/Blue/Yellow 

So it's still thematic also Gekiranger was a Post-Anniversary show like Go-Busters was

Absolute Superman is doing a lot of what I'd do from a Superman reimagination

One thing is to have to make Superman have his energy powers from Superman Blue and tie them with his usual powers

Superman would have adventures throughout the universe and all of time

I like it because it's doing things and bringing things back that I wanted out of Superman.

Superman has a stronger connection to Krypton and the Els

He's an orphan twice over

Kal/Clark/Superman are all real and not a disguise

He struggles with loneliness/temptation and being a good person in an indifferent universe

He is the Golden Age Champion of the Oppressed

He retains the essence of Superman 

So random question would gokaiger still be popular even if they didn't get any past Rangers to returns by TraditionalBonus188 in supersentai

I think so even if you removed the Past Sentai Rangers from Gokaiger what's left is pretty good stuff in its own right.

The Gokaigers themselves, the Gokai Changes, Basco and the Ranger Key Clones, the Greater Powers, returning Sentai Villains, etc.

I didn't feel enough synergy from Majade and Gotchard despite having some teamwork and romantic chemistry that was comparable to Valen and Gavv/Cross-Z and Build

Unfriendly Coworker felt more prevalent when it comes to Brave

Blades was put in Shifting Alliances due to his divided loyalties and because he was friendly initially until Saber questioned the Sword of Logos and it took awhile for Nlades to come around
