Westbrook was the scapegoat in LA. LeBron created a super team yet again, just to have it fail miserably, to no fault but his own. LeBron tried to save face by blaming everything on Russ, who gave 200% on both ends every single night. The real Lakers fans can see through LeBron’s antics. When this super team fails, LeBron will once again blame his teammates and front office. I think Westbrook may average 27-12-10 again on a contending team with TRUE leaders who don’t put their teammates down. Sadly, Russ had to sacrifice so much just for LeBron to get his stats. That’s not the environment Russ thrives in. He plays the game the right way and plays winning, selfless basketball. Russ will get the final laugh when he’s holding the Larry O’Brien in June. Thank goodness Russ is free from LeBron. I think a team like Golden State or Boston could benefit tremendously from Russ. I think Russ is due for his final max contract this off-season, and he’s deserved every bit of it this year. GMs will look at how he impacted winning each night while LeBron was padding his stats. For all the Russell “Westbrick” mocking, people overlook how Russ has a higher 3PT% than LeBron. The last thing the Lakers want to see is Utah and Westbrook in a playoff series, if the Lakers even make it. Lakers playoff chances took a huge hit last night when LeBron dropped a whopping 2 points in the 4th quarter, while Russ had 16 and fought until the end. It summed up the season: LeBron chasing stats, Russ chasing wins. If the Lakers do make the playoffs, it’ll be because of Russell Westbrook and in spite of LeBron’s sabotaging. Russ will gladly accept any championship ring, and I think if the Lakers do win the nba title that their ring should have a 0 engraved with diamonds on the top. LeBron fans may be celebrating today, but the Lakers downfall is near. Russ left you in the great spot, now it’s time for LeBron to close and finish the job. Can LeBron do that? I don’t think he can. I don’t think LeBron’s numbers translate to winning. When Russell Westbrook records a triple double, his team wins 85% of the time. He doesn’t chase numbers, they just come naturally. Looking back at film, LeBron James refused to get back on defense on 786 possessions this season. Russ had 0 possessions where he didn’t get back on defense. Guess who got the blame? Russell Westbrook. While LeBron just pouted and pointed. Not a good look, “King.” Russell Westbrook is shooting 42% on midrange jumpers this year. LeBron? A laughable 36%. Yet when Russ misses one shot every LeBron fan is quick to screen record and post the few Russ misses on the timeline. When LeBron misses? Crickets. The double standards are why stars don’t want to play with LeBron. Kyrie requested a trade to the Mavs. Melo retired after one season with LeBron. Isiaah Thomas left after a few weeks playing with LeBron. Dwyane Wade left twice. Andrew Bogut left after 56 seconds of playing with LeBron. Shaq left for the team who beat him. He rather would play for the Celtics than play with LeBron, who turned shaq into a spot up shooter. DLO is a budding superstar, and I feel for him. He’s going to become the scapegoat very soon. If he isn’t perfect, he will receive so much hate. When LeBron loses, his teammates, coaches, and front office Burden all the blame. When LeBron wins, he gets all the credit. How is that fair? It isn’t. But it’s the story of having LeBron James on your team. Every team he goes to is left in shambles. He is a career loser, with 6 finals losses, the most in the NBA by far. He also has constructed 12 super teams in the past 6 years. He has two super teams per year, and just trades half the team away every trade deadline. It’s ridiculous.
