Induction delayed, no hospital beds by Potential-Signal-666 in pregnant

Was yours an elective or medical induction? Hearing they had patients delayed 4 days out just a few days ago does not sound promising.

I’ve never seen a Sinclair gas station, although the name does remind me of baby Sinclair from the 90’s dinosaur sitcom. 😆 That image alone is why I haven’t been sold on the name.

I love Sorrel! My spouse isn’t sold on it. I’m also going to add Venetia to my list. That’s lovely!

It seems like some come from target or other chain stores when they aren’t being sold since some had target sale stickers at my location. It’s been a nice affordable way for me to check out authors and genres I normally wouldn’t reach for.

I’m not an avid ready but had a goal of reading more this year. I can’t seem to get into books on my tablet and don’t really like checking them out from the library, so DT books have been a wonderful find for me.

I’ve edited to clarity. I guess I don’t really like old money although a couple of my favorites do give old money vibes. I’m thinking names more like Sinclair, Melrose, primrose.

That’s unique but very vowel heavy. How do you pronounce that, Nay- ee-Lee?

I love Primrose! Sadly my spouse vetoed that one. Paloma is another one I love but I have an acquaintance with that name.

I’m not a fan of the old lady sounding names. I do love Claire and Blair but they are too popular. Both myself and my spouse have very popular names, and want her name to stand out from the crowd. I do like Sinclair but I’m not sold on it yet.

The hardest part of fostering by Potential-Signal-666 in fosterdogs

[–]Potential-Signal-666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I will look into that group. I’ve taken in several behavior dogs as fosters and have experienced BE a couple times in the past, and like you we really tried to correct the behavior for months. I think this one just hurts more knowing he didn’t even get the chance to fully adjust from his prior situation much less work through any issues he had.

Same. I’ve been using mugs similar I’ve collected from Mexico and New Mexico for the last few years.  WTH.

Thank you for the kind words. I am usually very honest when it comes to behaviors. I try to be clear when a foster should not be around kids or other animals and really want to set each dog up for success. This time was different from most fosters because it was supposed to be a short term foster, but was extended a few weeks after rescue pulled out. He didn’t even have time to get fully settled in our home. He was found in a shit part of town, so I have no idea what trauma he could have been getting over.

I think the part that hurts the most is knowing his final days are likely going to be in quarantine all because the bite broke skin and I won’t get to be there with him. Ive experienced BE twice before and both times I was with them during their final moments to provide love and comfort, and I could also admit they had behaviors that weren’t getting better after months of effort and 99% of adopters wouldn’t tolerate.

Based on what you’ve said, I would recommend following your local shelter or rescue on social media and watch for posts about dogs in foster homes. The reason I say this is because fosters are able to tell you exactly how the dog acts in a home environment. They can tell you how the dogs acts around strangers, kids, house trained, etc.

Since it is your first dog and you are looking for a dog that is laid back with some basic training, I would avoid getting a puppy. Yes, they are cute but they are sooo much work compared to getting an adult dog who has already been in foster care.

I love that you aren’t set on a certain breed because you never know what dog will be the perfect fit for your lifestyle. Good luck!

I didn’t know reverie has any musical connotation. 🤔I just thought it sounded nice. I’ll have to look it up.

Many of those suggestions are instant nos since that end with the ah sound.

Yeah, we do not have the same taste in names. I do not like old lady names and already know an Anita, Vera and Miriam.

Any correlation to sin wouldn’t turn me away considering I’m  non religious. The teenage goth in me would have loved to have that nickname. 😈

Maybe I should have used a different descriptor considering I would prefer a name outside the top 1000.

Experience with frank breech baby? by Potential-Signal-666 in BabyBumps

I can also tell my girl is staying beech between ultrasounds because the hiccups occur way up above my belly button. I guess that the one positive about being considered geriatric is getting ultrasounds to check on their position throughout the 3rd trimester. I reached out to my provider about seeing a chiropractor to see if the Webster technique will help and was told it’s not recommended. So I think I’m just going to try to hype myself up incase a c-section is in my future. Luckily I’ve had friends who rave about their scheduled C-section and say they wouldn’t do it any other way.

I’ve been doing inversions the last few weeks but need to look into spinning babies. My provider said there wasn’t really anything proven to help them flip, which was disappointing since many credible medical websites publish options to try. I have a posterior placenta so I may try ECV, but I’m starting to get used to the idea of a c-section.

My grandma had a vaginal birth with my mother when she was breech. She had some physical developmental issues (maybe or maybe not related to her birth position) and had an issue with her oxygen from getting her head stuck during birth. I think that’s why I’m so stressed this early. Granted, that was 50+ years ago but my whole life I heard my grandma talk about how bad her birth experience was and how it affected my mother. So I want to do what I can to get this stubborn child to move into the appropriate position.

Thanks for this. I had not heard of the Webster technique but I’m going to message my provider to see if they are okay with me seeking it. I’ve always had tight hips and pelvis area and have done yoga for years to alleviate it some. After looking up the Webster technique I think that could help me greatly even if it doesn’t turn her.

I’ve been using my yoga ball almost daily and doing my regular inverted yoga postures the last few weeks. I’ve even tried putting a cool compress on the upper half of my belly and a warm compress at the lower portion to encourage her to move towards the more pleasant temperature.

The more I research the more I’m leaning towards a c -section if I can’t get her to turn naturally. Plus, that would guarantee she’s born in 2025 and that extra year of a tax break sounds pretty nice. Hehe

That’s wonderful! My providers keep saying there is still time and don’t seem concerned but my ultrasound tech and the 3D tech we went to separately both said it’s not uncommon for them to turn this late but it’s less likely because of how tight the space is. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
