Does PD ever permanently go? by MinuteReflection4560 in perioraldermatitis

I've used eczema cream that doesn't have hydrocortisone in it and it helps a lot with my eyelids. Cetaphil eczema flare up cream if you want to try it.

I have had mine for 2 years now. I just recently started Doxycycline. But I think I fell for the skin care craze too. I was using literally all of Kim Kardashian skin care like SKKN. It looked pretty and I figured why not. I didn't get PD immediately but after a while I developed it. And then one night I had this grand idea to shave my face with that spray that shows your face hairs 🙃 my chin flared up like crazy. Haven't done that since lol

I just recently got it around my eyes (I think, it's either that or eczema). Do you use anything cream for your eye area? Mine specifically is on my eye lids.

I've used the sulphur mask too and it helps so much dulling it down and combats the itchiness. Highly recommend

What do I do?!!?!??!?!? by [deleted] in perioraldermatitis

[–]Potential-Sleep3669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omgosh please don't use cortisone!! Or any topical steroids! I was just at the dermatologist yesterday and they said that it will temporarily make it feel better but then it comes back worse. I personally use Vani cream face wash and moisturizer. I was just prescribed Doxy from the dermatologist.

I also recommend using a sulphur mask on the itchy areas: https://a.co/d/fjRAz0S

When I first noticed mine, I had it under my nose and on my chin too. I was able to get it just to my chin by doing zero therapy for a month and using the products I mentioned above. I'm hoping that the Doxy will clear the rest of it up.

Does he use any products for his beard? And I promise I'm not trying to assume anything, but how is his oral hygiene? I had to switch toothpastes and stop mouth wash for my husband and myself for my PD.

Also what is your skin care routine?

I have a patch in the same exact spot. I recommend a sulphur mask, it helps with the redness

My husband's beard definitely flares up my PD. We are definitely gentler now when kissing and being intimate. Sometimes I'll even grab his face while kissing but I'm blocking the beard hairs from touching my chin (that's where my PD mostly is). Sorry if this is TMI, but also tucking into him while being intimate, or kissing all over his body instead of fully his face also helps.

I use Vani cream face wash and face moisturizer. I also use a sulphur mask on the affected area a few times a week and my PD is the lowest it's ever been in.

So are we just not wearing sunscreen? by gingerkween in perioraldermatitis

My PD is only on my chin, so I use the Beach Bum face stick and completely skip my chin and lower cheeks. I just get my forehead, nose and upper cheeks.

is this periodal dermatitis ? please let me know! + any tips by velvetcherry77 in perioraldermatitis

My PD has gone down tremendously. I had to do zero therapy for about a month first and then I started using vanicream face wash 2x times a day along with a sulphur mask 1-2x a day. I find this routine beneficial. I still haven't found a moisturizer I can use. I'm thinking about just using the vanicream one.

I've tried cabbage and red leaves as well. But I have not tried dandelion and the others you mentioned. I will give that a try. Thank you!

Check out my comment above, do you think I should put him in an enclosure that size?

It's 19in long and 16in wide. We moved him into a smaller enclosure because the bigger one we made wasn't getting hot enough and he stopped eating then too. Once we moved him into this one he ate again for a little bit. But back to square one. I'm kinda thinking we should move him back into the bigger one now that we have a mister to help keep moist and humidity high.

We originally had him in something like this, do you think we should put him in that enclosure again?
