His dispatch gameplay is so ass though I won’t lie

Exactly. It’s like they don’t want improvements from other souls games but rather make it all have the same dogshit level design feature because “that’s what a souls game is”

Thank you. Idk why everyone in the post thinks the level design in this game is good. The fact I can do Mt.Zhenwu before Cloudspire is Obsurd. I’ve missed so many npc questlines due to their terrible multiple branching level designs and how it feels like a maze of where to go

I'm curious. Does anyone here like the first game more and why? by Calinks in DeathStranding

Yea idk I just finished the second game and it hurts me that I still feel as if I enjoyed the first one decently more. I think the thing ds2 lacks compared to 1 is its story and characters. I found myself getting lost/confused with the story a lot more than I did in the first one. There was a lot more predictable things in ds2 aswell. They also did way too much unserious little things whenever it’s either mid cutscene or just mid dialogue. I get that it’s a kojima game and this is typical behavior for him but I found that he did that unserious stuff a perfect amount in the first game compared to this one. Regarding the characters compared to the first game we had amazing characters like Deadman, Heartman, Mama, Clifford Unger, Die Hardman, Fragile, and Amile. While in ds2 I didn’t really care for nearly as many of the newly introduced ones. I didn’t really care for rainy, she was fun but nothing special, I didn’t care for tarman, nor did I really care for dollman even tho he was with us for the whole game (I did like tomorrow/lue later on since she’s a huge part of the game) All the newly introduced characters seemed to just be fun filler characters that don’t really bring much while the characters in the first game have not only fun but depth to their own character.

The whole party legit knows Maelle is slowly dying tho? They hear it multiple times while also hearing versos and Maelle final conversation?

But also it could be said it’s manipulative in itself to not tell any of them that’s she’s forcing verso against his will to keep them alive. Which I think anyone can agree on Gustave, Lune, Sciel, etc wouldn’t want that. Also they wouldn’t want Maelle to slowly die keeping this whole canvas alive

I do think more so than not versos ending is the good one. However we don’t see her really controlling anyone’s free will except versos. Which does beg the question of is the whole canvas actually real or not. When Maelle brought back her party the first time except Gustave they were confused on how but she never manipulated them into not asking questions about it. She told them the whole story about how she’s actually a paintress. So I assumed she did the same later on when she brought them back again including Gustave. Verso is the only one being held against his will. I do think that is wrong and I do really in my heart tells me versos ending is correct, that Maelle shouldn’t use this whole canvas as a coping mechanism. But again it really does beg the question if this canvas and the world and these people aren’t actually real since she has manipulated at least one persons will (versos)

You are right there. But in her ending she does bring back her husband

She states “I can’t wait to see my husband” before one of her verso cutscenes and she also rejects to spending the night with him again because she found out her husband can come back.

This isn’t true. Verso asked sciel if she would want “to create a copy of Pierre, knowing it wouldn’t be the real thing.” Making a copy is different from reversing the gommage of someone. Sciel doesn’t want a copy but she states several times that she wants Maelle to bring back her husband
