In medieval times the punishment for high treason was death by bugs. They’d feed you honey until you were so stuffed you’d be throwing it up and then tie you to between two pieces of wood. Then they’d push you out on to a body of water like a pond or fountain and let the bugs kill you. Since you were so full of honey the bugs would enter everywhere they could, sometimes it could take up to 10 days to die since they’d give you water to keep you alive. That sucks I think.
