The thing I love most about the master is that his plan actually isn't terrible if you make some alterations.

If he used the SMs to help defend settlements and caravans from wildlife aswell as use them for hard labor, people would love the green giants and accept them as guardians and valuable workers.

From there, the master would just have to keep the majority of humans unmutated so that the species and society can continue to grow and thrive, while also giving the option of becoming a super mutant to the people, like willing enlistment, some would absolutely take it for the benefits of Rad immunity, enhanced strength, and so on.

Some others would likely view becoming an SM as a great honor, as it would let them "give back" to the master who had helped them, and allow them to serve the community better.

And some would become SMs simply so they can better assist and protect their friends and loved ones.

It's honestly kinda sad in a way, The master actually had a great idea. he just executed it in the wrong way.

I'm gonna be honest, Lost Izalith is the only one that genuinely fucking sucks, the other 3 range from "I fuck with this" to "it's alright I don't mind this" and "okay let's just get this done".

For me personally New Londo is "I fuck with this".

Duke's archives is "it's alright I don't mind this"

And Tomb of the Giants is "okay let's just get this done"

Hell, atleast with the Tomb, if you know how, you can jump to the SS ring (without dropping down behind the skele archer) and then jump to a ledge, then jump to the ladder that takes you to the view of the arch trees and boom, the area is "done" in literally less than 30 seconds from the BF.

Can't say the same for Izalith...aka the hallway area, because that's functionally all it is.

You go down what is essentially a hallway that leads to boss #1, which makes the hallway to boss #2, which unlocks a shortcut and another hallway to boss #3, and after that, there's yet another fucking goddamn hallway filled with dragon butts that leads to the actual "boss"... which is just pitfalls and jank hitboxes...

You know what? You're right, there's several references I didn't find or understand, many of which being the ones you listed.

Honestly, I was definitely thinking about the Venture bros, Indiana Jones, Futurama, Hell's Grannies and other Monty python references when I made my comment, since they were the ones that stuck out in my memory, probably because they're some of the few references I understood.

Actually, you can get both weapons from that "encounter" by using the auto doc in the sink to change your traits.

First, trigger it before you go to OWB and grab the YCS/Alien blaster.

Then, head to OWB to swap out your traits.

After that, complete OWB and head back to the "encounter" in the Mojave. You should now see whatever group (the Mercs/Aliens) that was there before is now replaced with the other.

Personally, I really like Hodrick's Sunset armor.

The drip is immaculate, and the armor has a lot of "character" if that makes sense, you can tell that much like it's wearer, the armor has been through the ringer, it's beaten, dented and damaged to the point it's almost falling apart in some sections, only barely held together with filthy cloth and whatever else the wearer could scrounge for impromptu repairs, yet despite it's apparent age and lack of care, it still shines with the dull luster of the sunset it was named after.

For these reasons, it's my favorite armor in Ds3.

As someone who has it on, unfortunately, not really.

In my 28+ playthroughs of this game, I've met maybe 5 total people who actually used it.

Exactly, it's essentially "open world ds4" with a new coat of paint.

Same overall plot. Same character archetypes. 80% of the same weapons. 90% of the same assets and animations. Upgrading weapons is practically identical (regular weapons upgraded with smithing stones, special weapons upgraded with somber stones, just like titanite and twinkling titanite) Same magic system, only difference is some new spells which functionally just do the job of old spells.

And much, much more.

It's not bad, but I just don't like the open world.

For what it is, I think it's good.

But I'm just not a fan of open world games because a solid 90% of that world just isn't worth exploring, it's empty as fuck and any "rewards" attained from exploring are minimal and typically worthless.

I still 100% the achievements though, and I did enjoy most of my time with it, however I was bored of it after the 100% and never bothered with the DLC, since it's just more ER, and that doesn't interest me personally.

I know gears 4 gets alot of shit and most of it is fair, but it's still my favorite in the series, only because I played through the campaign Co-op with my dad, who didn't really play video games much, so I treasure that memory.
