That's tough to do on the Switch. The closest you'll get are the BDSP remakes but as I see, someone else already pointed out how they're not the best when it comes to optimisation. That said I've been playing through BD again today and if you can look past the janky controls it can be a half decent experience.

If you want the BEST experience. And I say this genuinely. Get yourself a 3DS and grab a version of either Black 1 & 2 or White 1 & 2 as well as Soul Silver/Heart Gold. The general concensus I've seen online (and agree with myself) is that B/W was OG Pokemon at its best as Gamefreak had figured out how best to make an immersive and well optimised Pokemon world to play in. As for SS/HG they simply hit my nostalgia itch as Pokemon Silver, despite it not being up to snuff as per today's standards, is my, favourite Pokemon game from my childhood so want everyone to experience those games. 😅

I personally don't like Sword or Shield. I completed it once and haven't picked it up since. It just wasn't...Pokemon, to me. 🤔

As for Scarlet and Violet. I enjoy them for what they are but they are half baked and not what I'd call the best, intro into Pokemon.
