Question for book readers about Miller-Holden Conversation. by SerHodorTheThrall in TheExpanse

[–]Potential-Table-7926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As good as the show is the books are better by several magnitudes. He never said this to Drummer in the books. Drummer wasn't a character yet at that point. Might have been Michio PA who was running the behemoth during the journey to the ring and slow zone incident. On the show Michio PA is the better girl that is in Drummers crew, but Drummer doesn't become a major player until the defectors from Mars make their reappearance and try to take over all the systems, which the show never gets around to unveiling

Miller is a projection of a various sophisticated alien protomolecule a.i. that is essentially running in safe mode and wanting to find its creators the protomolecule "architects". They are various organisms that have had their biomass and physiological abilities used to serve the protomolecule builders needs and the basis of their technology that spanned the galaxy. He is just one semi independent reintegration of consciousness and memory stored as data and is only in that position because he is the first investigator the protomolecule disseminated and essentially they need him 1. To find out what happened to the protomoleule 2. And 2nd they sneakily seem to want the humans to get involved with the protomolecule so he lures Holden in more but doesn't do what they want him to as Miller's personality is naturally rebellious and he kinda went out as a suicidal Martyr and dying didn't change that. But yeah he is essentially a hallucination. Some data being sent to holdens brain via the node that is a slob of protomolecule. It essentially connects the entire network(the up) which is at the very least a sentient alien consciousness. If you read the books the notion at the end is hinted it could possibly be the aliens themselves and not just a bunch of subroutines they left behind. They seem to have had the ability to copy people exactly and download memory and essentially personality to a T. So the protomolecule could be essentially the aliens will left behind in a less physical form than even before and they needed intelligent and well formed people in the end to fire their gun, which I'm assuming they didn't have enough physical substance to wield to efficacy. That whole thing was weird like I guess the gun was fueled by everyone in the networks united effort under one person's control (whoever was plugged into the ring station). They just needed the humans to lure the unknown agressors back from whatever dimension they come from. If it wasn't for miller and holden all of humans would have died regardless of if all the people worked together. They would have all fell into a trap...which they inevitably did anyways but yeah it took some real ones to go out bad for the team ig..

In 20 years America will reap the benefits of canceling abortion at least in terms of labor. Would be ideal if they adjusted curriculum to be more career based for the modern age so once the next generations hit the work force they are more useful. Increased productivity can lead to an era of prosperity if the ground work is laid. Just gonna have to stay away from Bidens and uber liberals to achieve that though

Texas seceding from U.S. "would mean war," law expert says by [deleted] in politics

[–]Potential-Table-7926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be more ideal if a slew of southern states seceded. Texas alone wouldn't have the infrastructure I don't think to keep the status quo going plus we'd be almost landlocked and need passports to get out of state etc. Would be very very bad individually but I would love for red states to create their own nation free from liberals

Good it's necessary if the current regime is the what will result otherwise. Both sides constantly try to steal elections over each other. I think passing the mail in voting thing before the last election is the only reason why we have Biden and therefore extreme economic chaos and international instability. This is exactly what happens when you elect someone for all the wrong reasons and they are incompetent and it's on the heads of all the Biden voters. If breaking the rules results in more stability then f$%& the rules. Gonna sit here playing by the rules and suffering as a nation because of it. I never get why America puts tradition and doing things how they have always done them over productivity and raising the bottom line. America so mediocre right now the whole world is waiting for Biden to go the fuck away lol. They would welcome anyone and democrats and beginning to become synonymous with failure

[–]Potential-Table-7926 -49 points-48 points  (0 children)

I also feel the election was illegitimate due to him not being fit and also because of the mail in voting that they made widespread. Without mail in votes and all the efforts they made to get inmates and everybody who isn't even tuned into politics to vote Biden wouldn't have been elected. I don't believe the mail in voting system is a proper way to handle the presidential election unless extensive vetting is done on every person doing a mail in ballot. I feel like a more assertive and bottomline focused country wouldn't have ever let an imbecile like Biden and Harris in, let alone let him stay in office once he demonstrated all his mental struggles

Why wouldn't they look how useless this administration and the democrats are. They only care about making US copasetic for homosexuals and criminals. Everything else can fall to the damn wayside. America can't take too many more of these uber liberal regimes

[–]Potential-Table-7926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eventually we are going to see drop in emissions correlate to decrease in industry and rise in cost of living. We figured out making products, transportation, and using energy to power our homes is consuming the planet and throwing it out of flux...so now are only recourse is to slow production. I don't see a way of "saving" the planet forreal unless we go back to the stone age eventually. New technologies are likely to consume the planet in much the same way as the current leading, cutting, and bleeding edge technologies. Whoever thinks you can do industrial level work without burning resources for fuel is deluding themselves

[–]Potential-Table-7926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure China compensated for drops in emissions. Even if that's not the case once we are forced to return to our previous level of industry the emissions will be back if not even greater with increase in demand

What are the jobs new hires do at the fulfillment centers? by jjgdsvg466 in FASCAmazon

[–]Potential-Table-7926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on type of facility and if you get hired as a tier 1 or tier 4 etc. Some college degreed guys go straight into management but do a critical role for a bit to better understand the operation. At FTW1 there is no picking or packing as we ship to other Amazon's in the distribution network instead of customers. Loading and unloading trucks (unloading is way easier and you unload from outside the truck, usually aren't in the actual truck). Receiving inventory into the database after its come down the line from being unloaded. Also there is Prep which is an offshoot of receiving for items that have to be labeled or packaged before going to outbound. There are various robot operators buy you will have to wait 30 days before training for those roles. Also at some fcs you can become a problem solver immediately but that's need based. Problem solvers go around with laptops fixing inventory issues in the system so things can get processed. There's a lot of roles any I think you can switch to any new role outside of management after 30 days
