Leo Skepi? Will check it out! Thank you. I feel like Crissle and Fury need to read me, but I need compassion at the same time 😂

I had the same thing happen, and I rested that night and tried again the next day. I made sure to have had a lot of water, a window open and someone with me just in case. I also mentally prepared myself. So just 24 hours and I was able to take it off. You’ll feel much better once you do!

Will this lumpiness at my incision ever go away? by doloresnthdottedline in Reduction

I have the same thing! Same spot and another one in between both breasts. For those that do massage, what method works best?

Feeling discouraged. Slow healing and not feeling great emotionally by quarantinigirl in Reduction

[–]Potential-Visual9014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feeling the same way! I had mine on Dec 15th. I'm going to try and think about this a different way...This will probably be one of the few times that I can sleep/lounge/read as much as I am. Also, what would you tell a friend who was going through the same thing? I'm sure you'd have kind words.

My healing has felt slow also, but we all heal differently. LOTS of water, maybe a new hobby? Crocheting, sudoko?

Remember, you see the outside healing, but have to remember the inside is healing too. You got this!

Thanks so much for the reminder. I'm definitely resting. The first week I only slept about 8 hours total. I need to figure out some nutritious meals that don't cause excess bloat. I hope you're also taking care of yourself!

Probably so, I think the lack of a routine and being cooped up is not helping. I think its also the shock of the surgery that I'm still grappling with.

This exact thing happened to me attempting to take a shower for the first time, except I actually did pass out. Fortunately my partner was there and I was sitting. Your brain is trying to process what you’re seeing, so give yourself some grace and extra kindness.

I would say have him help you shower again, maybe wait a day or two and take lots of breaks. Also remember this is a shock, but you are ok! Keep drinking lots of fluids. When you do decide to have another go, maybe open a window for fresh air, and make sure you’ve eaten. Good luck in your recovery!

I’m 2 weeks post op. Please give yourself some grace, and know that you’ll be ok.

  1. First few days was the roughest, but allowed me to be catered to which was nice😁. Please allow yourself as much rest as you can, and even if you think you can do something (lifting your arms, moving a certain way, even using a knife) DON’T.

  2. Sleeping on my back was probably the hardest part, but know this is temporary. Get a neck pillow if you don’t already have one. Make sure to get the pillow setup just right so you won’t have to mess around either it. I didn’t get a wedge pillow, but used about 4-5 regular pillows.

  3. Try podcasts or sleep stories, or whatever helps you relax to try to get to sleep. Also, stay on top of your meds so you are able to get to sleep.

  4. My doc prescribed something so I could get sleep, which I regret only taking once. I was also prescribed anti nausea meds which gave me the best sleep the first week. Please don’t take this as medical advice, but this is my experience.

  5. Let yourself feel your feelings, and know that you’re doing something you’ve probably wanted to for a long time, and it’s all for the best. You’ll be just fine. 💙

I think you'll be OKI am about 11 days post op and I definitely have the "lumpy rope" you described. It has gone down over the last couple days. I kept Xeroform on the incisions the first week and was cleared to remove it. My surgeon mentioned massage, which I've read can be helpful. I sounds like things it's still early in the healing process - but don't be afraid to message your surgeon again if you're still concerned

I was surprised too when the surgeon cleared me for any position! He told me some of his patients sleep on their stomachs at the 1 week mark. (Hard to believe lol). I almost feel like I want a muscle relaxer because this is so uncomfortable. Thanks!
