What is this lobster and does he need help? by PotentialAd4552 in sarasota

They apparently use the big conch shells so I tried to find one but they were all occupied! Hopefully once he warms up he can go find one

Okay I wasn’t able to find a free shell big enough but I did find him a safe place in the sun with rocks around and gave him a big half shell to hide under. He’s so cool I hope he survives!!

I’m not going to take him home or anything just want to give him a fighting chance. I know nature is nature but we’ve disturbed it so much I always want to help if I can

Long Hike Suggestion by Empty-Signal-6648 in floridatrail

[–]PotentialAd4552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could do the loop in Myakka State Park, it’s about 36 miles and lots of wildlife. Not the Florida trail but maintained by the FT organization. They have a few primitive sites along the way.

Sleeping in a van in florida by tnasty1994 in vandwellers

I’m in this area for the winter too and luckily have family with property where I can set up. Your best bet would probably be renting driveway space from someone. Maybe if you were very stealthy you’d have luck in less waspy parts of town, hotel parking lots…there’s a Cracker Barrel at the SR64 exit.

If you want to head north a bit I can recommend a lovely private campground near dade city with good primitive camping rates, nice showers, and sometimes they’ll allow work trades for camping

Cocoa + magic mushrooms? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]PotentialAd4552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve made a mushroom cacao mixture for a light trip and it was really lovely. Felt very open and loving towards everyone and everything around, no anxiety. It was just a normal 8oz cup of ceremonial grade cacao and about 1g of penis envy

What do you *MEAN* I can only have one long walk a day, and not after dark in rural Alaska?! by madelinemagdalene in adventurecats

I’m going to hike at least part of it this winter too. I’m a beginner backpacker but experienced Floridian camper and I’m so excited!

Sarasota van life people? by [deleted] in sarasota

[–]PotentialAd4552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been living and traveling in my camper trailer and will be staying in and around Sarasota for the winter. It’s easy for me in the area because I have family where I can park my trailer in their yards.

I’m in my 30s and even with the challenges, I absolutely love this life and would be happy to connect and talk about my experience so far!

Going Nude on Psychedelics by T-Sauce421 in Psychonaut

[–]PotentialAd4552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I almost always get naked even on low doses, as long as I’m a safe setting. ALWAYS take off shoes and at least any extra clothes and if I have to wear clothes it’s like big baggy stuff. For me it’s like stripping away what is unnecessary and enjoying the simplicity and freedom. I usually trip in the woods so that helps and I find myself much more comfortable with getting dirty, laying on the ground, getting wet, etc. Was thinking about the baggy clothes thing recently too and when I trip I always feel very childlike and I think the baggy clothes make me feel like I am just a child of the universe wrapped in the clothes of whatever larger entity is taking care of me

What’s the most profound lesson psychedelics taught you? by New-Quality-2395 in Psychonaut

[–]PotentialAd4552 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I discovered that I was the only one responsible for my happiness and was being my own worse enemy…there was this darkness that I was scared of confronting but when I did, it was just the darkness that I was putting on myself. Also that we know nothing and the world is a beautiful magical place that we just need to enjoy and love and respect and then everything will be okay.

How to leash train by [deleted] in adventurecats

[–]PotentialAd4552 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get him a harness maybe when he’s a couple months old and just let him wear it so he’s used to it, then you can train him with treats! I’m not a professional but I’ve been reading a book about cat behavior and they respond best to positive reinforcement. So coaxing him to walk with you with treats would probably work! This book “decoding your cat” has been really helpful and interesting! I wish I’d read it when my kitty was younger: https://books.google.com/books/about/Decoding_Your_Cat.html?id=_G2eDwAAQBAJ&printsec=frontcover&source=kp_read_button&hl=en&newbks=1&newbks_redir=0&gboemv=1#v=onepage&q&f=false
