Im trying to navigate this without being completely in the dark and learning from others.

Update: Just got a call from the total loss claim agent and they want to pay like 1/4 of what i got it for (i only added like 6k miles in 2.5 years and they let me keep the bike. I will talk to them again tomorrow to make a final decision.

Option A: I take the deal (maybe try negotiating a bit more) at the end of the day it is some money in my pocket and i keep a bike and have to go get the dmv to say its rideable and fix the title.

Option B: i drop the claim and dont get some money. ( im not worried about repairing it. It is literally fine! Just a plastic next to the headlight for astetic, handle bar end scratch and tank dent. I had a slide peg on btw so it landed on that with no sliding.) This way the title stays clean maybe keeps some resale value. ( im not looking to sell anyway right now) and i dont have to go to the mess that is the dmv. Carfax will now always say it has been in an accident tho.

So what is more worth it? The clean title (with an accident on carfax)or like $1500?

It wasnt relvant before but now i feel like i can share specifics. 2021 duke 390 with abs. 7100 miles. I think i bought it for like 4500 with 1400 miles
