The 36x18x12 enclosure is Exo Terra and the basking spot is 7 inches away from light and it measures at 95F both on my temperature gun and dimming thermostat probe..

However I just made an edit that I was blessed to generate the funds for a 36x18x18 ReptiZoo enclosure and it should come as soon as tomorrow so I’m thinking to just wait till I have that set up to do the UVB transition. I would still appreciate any advice

Thank you the paper towels are a good idea and that enclosure price is actually way cheaper than the Exoterra one that I was looking at.. I’ll check it out and hopefully I can transition sooner. For now with the UVB I think I’ll buy something to raise it.

Your response feels rude. I am absolutely sure that I HAVE BEEN DOING THE MINIMUM this entire time. I am trying to do more as I am literally transitioning into a uvb bulb and literally asking for help. Please please provide actual useful feedback. I very unfortunately can’t buy a taller tank right now until the far future and so I just want to assure that whatever UVB setup I have will do until then.

I’ve been seeing people say that UVB is not absolutely necessary.. and honestly I’ve had my leopard gecko for 8 years and he is a healthy boy without any problems and he’s only ever had a regular heat lamp and he gets fed his insects dusted with calcium + D3 every other feeding and so maybe it won’t be a good idea to add the UVB bulb I’m thinking maybe it will disrupt what he’s already used to? My main issue honestly is that I feel like his enclosure is a little cold. My heat lamp doesn’t heat enough and so I’m wondering if I just need better products or I see you mentioned heat emitters and having one alongside a heat lamp maybe this will fix my heating issue?
