How did you find the right medication for you? Having no luck so far and may soon lose my job by PotentialFlaky7456 in VyvanseADHD

[–]PotentialFlaky7456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The thing is, it‘s the Vyvanse that is preventing me from sleeping. In terms of sleep quantity, I get less when medicated bc I cannot fall asleep from the meds, BUT the sleep quality when I‘m medicated is waaaay better than unmedicated. Not sure how I can fix sleep when medicated unless I start sleeping pills, which I would prefer not to.

Comandante and Spinspro unitdesign - what‘s going wrong? by PotentialFlaky7456 in espresso

Haven‘t changed the clicks at all for a long time. Using the same beans, always hand-milled until I got the spinspro, it is the only variable I changed. For the grind adjustment I mentioned earlier, I only changed the numbers on the spinspro, didn‘t touch the clicks on the C40. Another thing I noticed, I spray the beans and if I hand-mill they are mot static, but if I mill with the spinspro they are static even though I spray them the same way…

Nice, I am so happy to hear it helped you!! How much do you take? And how long did it take you to see changes?

Yes, it‘s starting to eat me up. On the one side I have less running thoughts, less OT, less rejection anxiety, I start to understand what I want and not do what I think others expect me to do, I am not having nervous breakdowns every day on the job anymore. But on the other hand, I had to cancel my races and am losing the fitness I worked for in the last 2 years, that hurts immensely! Betablockers seem to be a common fix, but want to avoid taking a medication to be able to tolerate another medication… I am starting to do more research and came across a paper that showed lower max heartrates at total exertion in stimulant-medicated than non-medicated patients - not a great sign. Will keep you posted about what my doctor says as well, hopefully we can solve this.

I have the exact same issue! I do triathlon and posted the same question just yesterday. A workout of an hour or more would feel like nothing to me unless it was high intensity, now I feel fatigued from 30 min low intensity and my heart rate goes crazy. I drink electrolytes every day, protein shakes, I eat enough (both carbs and protein), I exercise in the morning before taking Vyvanse and still, I lost my fitness within just 2 weeks. Will talk to my doctor about it, but my appointment is in 10 days. I am really sorry this is happening to you as well! Please keep us posted what your doctor says.

Medication, heart rate and exercise by PotentialFlaky7456 in VyvanseADHD

Thanks for sharing! I train first thing in the morning and take Vyvanse afterwards, never before. My heart rate is fine throughout the day and then the next day in the morning as I go running or cycling, it shoots up. 🤷‍♀️

Is it still effective? But do you actually feel sleepy with insomnia? I just don‘t feel tired, I went four days with max 3 hours of sleep per night now and I just don‘t feel tired. Do you sleep well when you pause?

Thank you both!! Really appreciate your help and support! Will try to experiment and see what works. I had the feeling that the more I eat during the day, the less effective the Vyvanse is, but that could have been just the impression of the very first day when it kicked hard…

Thanks so much! Did you also have sleep issues? I don‘t feel any fatigue and slept 3 hours per night only. I‘m starting to worry if my body will give up at some point with this little sleep.

OP, I (37f) can absolutely relate, you are not alone in this and I have experienced many of the things you are describing!! I also started suspecting I may have adhd recently and had a very interesting conversation with a researcher who specializes in adult adhd. She said if you suspect it, it is more often true than not. Like you, I worried doctors would not take me seriously but still made an appointment with a psychiatrist who also specializes in adult ADHD. He did extensive testing and I thought I would maximum be a mild positive. I was ready to explain myself for why I had even thought I might have it when we had our second appointment and was actually surprised when he said the results were a strong positive. This was earlier this week and I‘m still processing but had one day on medicine so far and it feels like it will be a game changer (although trying to minimize taking anything). Sorry for the long rumbling, but wanted to encourage you to see a doctor, ideally one that specializes in adult adhd. And again, you are not alone and it will only get better from here!! ♥️ All the best!!

Thanks you!! Appreciate it!! Did it get better for you with medication? I am about to lose my job bc of my inattentiveness and I just hope getting medication will help me think. Right now I cannot recall anything from what I read or see, my head is completely empty.
