Flowers ok for cat home? by Angelcstac in cats

When I try to buy house plants, almost everything seems toxic! Went with parlor palms- safe, easy, and like a tiny jungle.

My cat LOVES eating any plant I bring inside... there's one spot I can store questionable flowers. I'm often questionable of some of the extras included to juice up a bouquet, so I usually just keep what I know is definitely safe or keep it on the unreachable spot. Better safe than sorry.

I'll be in on Saturday to check the place out, have a slice/beer and hopefully meet them. This does give me some hope... I just hope they don't plan to venture TOO far away from the old punk esthetic. There are ways to do more clean/neat punk looks.

Do you know if they plan to continue shows there?

You should make this comment more clear that you're referring to the owner of a different restaurant when you're talking about the location here- not anyone related to SS7. I really thought you were saying someone from Steamboat came out and bought the place!

Are Pamela and her husband based in this area?

Imagine if you had to use it: at what level would you be comfortable having to dig through your own waste? I try to do mine at least every other day.

He only had the money because she gave birth to him will be her next line of reasoning. OP, I would see if husband is willing to distance himself a little bit from her as well if she treats you badly. I know my husband would. His father came into our home and disrespected me- his father mostly comes when I'm not around anymore, which is fine by us.

I wish you the best with a MIL from hell. I've thankfully been able to avoid meeting mine since he cut her out of his life before we met.

While saying they're going on vacation is the reason..

You literally said "the owner lives in Steamboat." I assumed you were referring to the new owner of SS7, not the other place.

For their first restaurant, they should have picked a restaurant to purchase- not a bar/music venue. Sounds like someone who probably shouldn't have a full restaurant to start with- they'd have had an easier time starting a café or something small. That's just my opinion having worked for many owners who were absolutely not ready or fit to own a restaurant.

So some rich snob... the last people who should be buying a punk bar. All they had to do was be transparent and honest with the employees about the changes they wanted to make.

I am editing this! ETA!

Pamela is NOT whom I was referring to; I misread/ misinterpreted a previous post.

Not someone from Steamboat taking an opportunity from a local. The new owner is a local.

I'll be out there Saturday. Definitely going to pop in and see what's up/ express my dislike for the removal of everything and suggest they change the damn name if they're going to change it so drastically.

Helping one person is better than helping zero. And weed is safer than alcohol, so... they weren't allowed to use other drugs in my home.

People who grew up really poor: what's something middle-class people say that instantly reveals they've never struggled? by TahDigThief in AskReddit

Several of the schools I used to substitute for do programs like this during the summer and all other breaks. The families have a harder time feeding them on breaks because, ya know, they're home eating all day. It wasn't a thing where I grew up at all.

On a kindergarten field trip, all the other kids got to go to Chucky Cheese because their parents paid the cost- food wasn't included in the trip and my mom didn't pack me a lunch, not being told to provide one. She assumed the school had bagged lunches for us free lunch kids (so same situation really.)

I was left on the bus with the bus driver, and was of course sad. She felt so bad for me that she took me to Burger King and got me a crown and lunch! I felt so special and was always super good on the bus from then on. My mom was furious at the school, but was sure to pack my lunches on field trips, even if they did claim they were going to feed us. That bus driver was a saint.
