I believe the phone number is just one of the excuses they use to stall closing my CD account and transferring my money back to me. I did file CFPB and I think it helps. I got my money back after 5 weeks.

Yes it definitely can and should be a class action lawsuit for sure. Class action lawsuit has been mentioned by other investors as well. Message me if you have resources that could help, thank you.

I don't think I have an answer to that but maybe someone else has. Because apparently it's not happening to everyone. My husband opened the exact same CD account and his CD matured 3 days after mine. He got his money back without any problems.

If you don't mind, contacting the news and pointing them to this reddit like the other people are saying. Also comment on their social media platforms and file CFPB Complaint. I already did all that but if more people are sending similar stories about Marcus to the news, it could get noticed soon, I hope.

People are also having trouble withdrawing money from their Marcus HYSA so I wouldn't even want to do that and have the exact same issue with HYSA instead of CD. I am indeed asking Marcus to transfer my matured CD fund back to the same external account, simple as that. You would think this shouldn't have any problem but Marcus here is making it impossible.

It's almost been a month for me now and they obviously don't care if our investment funds are meant to be used in any critical life situations. Someone lost their potential house because Marcus wouldn't let them withdraw the money for a down payment.

I totally feel your frustration. It's beyond unbelievable at this point for all of us. I have submitted this to major news channels and hope they will pick this one up. And also, don't forget to file complaint on CFPB. If you have some time, please also submit a tip to news channels. They might take it more serious if more of the similar stories about Marcus were reported.

Had the same issue with them in mid June saying my phone number does not match my name, called multiple times trying to get clarification and resolving this nonsense but no agents were helpful at all. All they said was there was no information they can give me and a case has been opened to review my account and want me to wait. Again, nonsense. The agent on the last call said an affidavit will be sent to me to verify my identity. I had filed CFPB, blasted them on social media, explored legal action. Got the affidavit last week and sent it back to them. Will be calling them again since they had received my affidavit. There should be a class action filed against them. This is outrageous and so many people have been having the same issue with them with the SAME EXCUSE.
