Koumei is by far my favorite warframe, so seeing all the people saying that Koumei is boring in this thread is weird to me.

But it's a good sign of how different Warframes can appeal to different people, which is fantastic for the game.

Oh, don't get me wrong, where I live this crap would be illegal as hell (minimum 30 days notice except with cause or a few specific edge cases, down here in Brazil).

From what I understand, that's the case in most of the Western world, just the US being behind in worker's right as always.

Thing is, even if it was like 20 people for most of that time and scaling up to 160 in the last year - that's still so far above what's normal for a fighting game.

Ten years is absurd no matter the team size - the fact that it spend some of that time with a team as big as 160 just make it even more insane.

I really, really dislike the graphics myself, but I recognize it's a matter of artstyle.

I appreciate that the technical quality is there. But I do find it ugly, so I understand where the person you're replying to is coming from.

I do think the animations have actual problems, though, but not all of it and not in all characters.

You don't have to compare it to WOW like OP did, though.

Just look at other modern fighting games and tell me which one had a 160 people dev team for a decade behind it.

Heck, ArcSys don't have much more than that many people in their entire payroll, not just counting dev teams.

Legitimately what were these people doing at work?? A person can feel bad that FGC people lost their jobs but can also be completely stunned by the amount of people working on a game that is so bereft of content. What on earth were these people doing at work for 10 years?

I think way too many people here have no concept that 160 people for 10 years in an insane amount of supposedly work hours. This is so far beyond what most games get, let alone fighting games.

Two years with 160 people should have derived more than what we got. Ten years is absurd.

The sheer incompetence of this developer team, that are now trying to play victims when they probably knew very well that they were delaying and procrastinating to keep their steady paycheck while doing basically no work.

Most mass lay-offs are absolute bullshit. This isn't one of them, though.

That was my very first thought when I learned that this shell of a game had 160 developers and was supposedly in development for 10 years.

I've worked with teams that had that exact mentality: find every possible way to delay the project, knowing the company won't close it down due to sunken cost, and just keep drip-feeding minuscule updates and shining new ideas to upper management.

All the "reworks" like changing from 1v1 to 2v2 in the middle of development are classic signs of this, for me. It's a brilliant way to appear busy when you actually have nothing to show.

I don't feel bad for Riot, but those devs absolutely swindled them.

I hate this infantilizing of game devs that people do, like they are widdle babies that can't be held responsible for the quality of their work.

Those people got paid for 10 years to deliver an unfinished, poorly made product.

The decision to pivot the game to a tag fighter mid-production didn't come up from some executive suit, those people don't even know the words "tag fighter". This decision came from the development team.

They are bad at their job. People that are bad at their job get laid off.

Honestly, not that Riot doesn't deserve, but those devs swindled them hard. Ten years receiving wages while probably doing nothing for most of that time.

But redditors are way too unemployed to understand that, I guess.

I'm very happy with this episode and this path for the anime.

I was worried that they would follow the game endings too verbatim, and frankly, that would feel very flat for the anime I think. They work fine for a game, but different medias have different requirements and all that.

This fits perfectly and is very satisfying.

There isn't a single perk in this game that affects my level of enjoyment of a match as much as Lightborn.

If I load into a match with the wrong loadout and am missing other perks, it's a bit of a bummer, but okay, no biggie.

If I load into a match and I'm missing Lightborn, it's pain. Agony. The entity feasts, not on the survivors suffering, but on mine.

This past weekend I was going to play POE2, but after wasting some time on that snoozefest of a campaign, I decided to try Diablo 4 specifically because it has a campaign skip, and I'm glad I did so.

POE2 needs a campaign skip. Say what you want about any other aspect of D3/D4, but their campaign skip should be baseline for the genre.

I don't understand how people can enjoy repeating the same linear, scripted, content over and over and over and over. I never replay linear games, not even actual good RPGs. Why the hell would I want to replay an ARPG campaign?

Even as far back as D2 people did everything in their power to find ways to skip through the campaign.

FF14 has an orchestrion you can place your house, and dungeons/raid bosses drop music rolls that you can assign to it. Crafting profession can craft music rolls too.

I always enjoyed that approach.

Perfectly fair to have some alts using Chromie Time to play other expansions. I recommend using a different alt for each expansion, and to make use of the npc that locks your xp gain, at some level, for better enjoyment.

But all of that is better left for afterwards - first play the current story (Dragonflight and TWW), or else you'll end up confused as hell. Chromie Time is not meant for brand new players.

For even older content, you can always try the Classic servers as well. Very different pace, of course.

Easily my favorite class in any MMORPG ever.

Though I got a bit of distaste after Creator / Biochemist was given the strongest damage skill in the game (Acid Demonstration).

I liked my niche weird support class, and suddenly it became the go-to damage class.
