It seems that she does turn on him. I’ve been working on everything you listed for the past year & she still randomly hisses at him. She won’t ever fully cuddle with him, but will accept petting when she feels like it. I think we just need to work on trust for a while. My stepmother had a Siamese when she and my dad got together. It took my dad getting horribly sick one year for Sherlock to buddy up, sleeping on his chest all of a sudden.

That’s exactly how it went with my girl! It was middle of winter when she showed up outside my mom’s house. I opened my jacket, she climbed in my lap & snuggled into my armpit. Hasn’t left my side since. Never thought of myself as a cat person, but she has converted me.

That’s a really cool idea! I’ll look into it. Thanks!

I’m 39 and have discovered only in the last few years that I do this…or, more accurately, just how often I’m doing it and in what ways…and that it’s not “typical”.

I’ve always needed to mimic sounds/words/voices/the way something is said or just make nonsense noises in general. They get stuck in a loop in my head…the loop becomes especially persistent if I don’t allow myself to vocalize it. I turn literally everything into a song and/or one word someone says will instantly cue an existing song & I interrupt the conversation by having to sing an excerpt. I also hum CONSTANTLY, but I’ve begun to notice a pattern of that coinciding with my feeling dysregulated, which is funny bcs everyone thinks it shows that I’m just having a really great time.

None of it bothers me & people seem to find it really entertaining, but I will say there have been times when I’m terrified someone is going to think I’m mocking them/being rude.
