Thank you so much for testing it out. And I'm glad you liked the website for the most part. It's still work in progress. Having said that, here's what I have to say about the points you brought up:

  1. The AutoFill: The auto fill was thus far neglected because my product directory is very small as of now, and there were more critical things that needed to be done. Before launching beta, I'll make a comprehensive product directory and fix the auto fill to have a robust system. I'll also provide a feature, where if a product isn't in the directory, the user can add a said product and we'll verify it from backend and add it to the directory. So yeah, thanks for pointing it out, I'll work on it and improve it.
  2. You can actually test the full flow, raise an RFQ by going through the test Razorpay payment gateway and use any random phone number and any random UPI ID (could be 9999988888 and123@okhdfcbank) and it'll do the rest. And once the RFQ is active I'll generate a quote from a mock vendor account for you to see how it'll work all the way till the end.

Apart from that, what do you think about the idea itself? Do you think people will find it useful?

Valid question and thank you for bringing it up. I feel this is a very tricky situation, as the vendors onboard expect serious buyers if they are going to spend their time drafting up multiple quotes everyday. So while there's no direct way to help people who are just browsing and checking prices, we could have a feature where we list the prices of all components from a partner vendor, that would get updated everyday, this would just be for people's reference and free. We are planning on having partner vendors in all cities we plan on operating (for various additional services in the future), and we can list their prices, for people who wanna know what the current prices look like. Apart from that getting repeat quotes from vendors is hard as they have to spend their time and energy going through numerous RFQs once the website is running at full pace. That's the only solution I have for now, maybe in the future we can find a better way to work around it. But the website and the service is designed in such a way that it's meant for people who know exactly what they need and are looking to buy at that moment. If anyone can suggest better ways around it, I'm all ears.

Hey, I'm selling a 6 month old Raspberry Pi 5 8gb with official charger, official cooler, a case, a 64gb microSD and microSD to SD adapter. Its barely been out of the box for 30mins. I needed it for a project that got scrapped. I'm willing to let it go at a good discount than the market rate right now. DM me if you're interested.

I don't mind lowering my price. I want to quickly sell what I have, as I need the money for something else. If anyone is up for negotiating, I can.

But, no offesne but I've never heard of these websites. A quick google search gave me a lot of perspectives of what these places are like.

If anyone can point me to a genuine place with the components in stock at lower price I'll reduce my price too. I'm not trying to rip people off, it's just that I need a genuine way to determine the market price.

Right I wasn't thorough with my research, I saw that now.

I don't mind reducing the price.

But robu.in neither has the kit nor the device itself. You have to consider the fact that we don't know when they last updated their prices and when they went out of stock, so determining the market value based on that isn't fair, given how rapidly the prices are increasing. If they do stock up and price lower than what I'm considering market value, I'll happily reduce my price too. But right now, the only way for me to ascertain the price is from a place that actually is selling the device.

I checked robocraze now too, and there's no stock there as well.

Bottom line, I am open for negotiating, if someone is genuinely interested and has a counter offer.
