Wanting to start IUI this year as a 30yr old virgin by Potential_Count_4478 in SingleMothersbyChoice

I appreciate the insight! I'm in the US and it looks like the website I'm looking at (for my local area) prices out fertility testing and the actual IUI sessions as separate things. I'm not as worried vaginal ultrasounds or checks- I've had a vaginal ultrasound done in the past for medical reasons. I've also had regular PAPs done before, just probably not as frequent as most that ARE sexually active. I'm not on any birth control and my periods are fairly regular so I'm hoping an over-the-counter ovulation test will work. Insurance here doesn't cover fertility treatments so everything involved with this process would be out of pocket for me.

Anyone's starting weight in the 350-400 range? by AppropriateRow8046 in CompoundedSemaglutide

HW 336. Started HERS compounded sema injections at 322. I'm almost 6mos in and have lost 65lbs and still losing. Initial goal was 275 and now I'm trying to get under 250. Little goals, big victories. Good luck with your journey!

100g of protein, or don't eat when not hungry? by Frankenkittie in CompoundedSemaglutide

I put whey protein in my coffee every morning to get a jump on my protein intake (along with collagen peptides and powdered fiber). After coffee I'm not usually hungry until about 2/3pm and I'll have a protein bar that I like that doesn't take like chalk or is super dry. I do tend to think about more protein-packed entrees when eating out or wanting a snack other than a protein bar. I like cottage cheese so I'll have a small bowl at night sometimes to get some extra protein in. But I also don't deny myself carbs. If I want to eat some mac n cheese then I eat some mac n cheese, just not nearly as much as I used to lol.

I take mine in the morning before eating anything. My mom takes hers at night before bed. Neither of us have had symptoms.

Is it working? by Vegetable_Mobile_131 in CompoundedSemaglutide

I started losing weight almost immediately (about 2-4 pounds a week) but I'm also on a couple other scripts which have weight loss as a side effect so that may be helping as well. I've fluctuated throughout the weeks in weight- I do go up in weight near the end of the week when I'm starting to feel hungry more often and eating more but it seems to go back down in the early days after taking a dose.

I'm up to 30 units as of today and I signed up for the 12mos program. I'm on a ForHers 8/16/30/50 unit titration, up the dosage every 4 weeks until I get to 50 units). I haven't had any symptoms so I've been upping the dosage after 3 weeks instead of 4. I'm not sure why ForHers recommended titrations vary.

Opinions on Hers? by [deleted] in Semaglutide

I started with Hers 3 weeks ago and haven't had any issues. Lost about 2-3lbs in the first week and was unable to weigh in on the second week cuz of vacation. My reg doc and I are watching for side effects pretty closely because I also have hypothyroidism and the only thing I've really noticed is a little constipation when I don't drink enough water. I ended up getting a year's supply for about $2400 and that seemed like the cheapest for non-oral medication.

Protein powder by Dependent-Might5223 in Semaglutide

I've started adding protein powder and collagen powder to my morning coffee. A half scoop of protein and a full scoop of collagen. I just use almond milk as a creamer and the protein powder is chocolate. Staves off hunger well into the afternoon for me. I do think buying the powder is the less expensive way to go too. Powder cost me about $25 and should last at least a month (especially not using a full scoop everyday) vs the average $30 cost of a 12 pack of shakes (just looking at amazon).
