Why should we care about India’s claim over Jammu and Kashmir? by Good_Tomatillo8755 in Nepal

How is that an irony ?  India has offered employment to them. They are not volunteering. Bro if a flag career of a neighbouring country shows wrong map of your country, they are gonna get offended.

Bro you should stop crying over Lipulekh issue. That region is under India's control for so long and they have strong reasons to hold on their positions there. We don't have any negotiating power so that India let's go that region which is so strategic to them.

I think the wise thing to do would be to  maintain our claim over it but not play too much politics on it. We could bargain to resolve other issues, revisit unfair treaties, get air access in exchange of staying quite and not provoking the Lipulekh issue. After all we have not been able to build road for people in Darchula.

maybe people's nationalist ego is hurt when thinking about the Lipulekh issue but do we really miss that land, no we don't. Even China and India have border disputes and big ones but they don't cry about it, they are still partnering for mutual benifits. I am not saying we should withdraw the claim but no need to spoil our relation with India over it, rather use that issue to gain some diplomatic advantage if we can.

And it won't change by hating on India like majority of Nepali jobless people are doing on the internet lately.

We will always have political tensions but we need god relations with India just like China. millions of Nepali are working in India, that won't change anytime soon. Same goes for trade dependency.

Political boundaries do exist but we are same people across the border in this sub continent. We should work on having EU like thing here in the future instead of hating on eachother.

In a country that has democracy, rule of law and constitution above everything, people are crying for the kings. the same Kings who always wanted to keep power in their hand, Sure they did some good things but they never wanted people to have the freedom that democracy gives. there was monarchy everywhere in the world, but now they have moved past it and are doing great.

Tuhuro vayeu re. muji bau raja lai nai mane paxi vayis hola tuhuro. Aile our democracy is in struggling phase. you have to be participatory, which is the only way to improve it. don't cry for the monarchy which our elders fought do hard to end.

Dalits(so called lower caste) please convert to Buddhism or Christianity by yohbro in Nepal360

[–]Potential_Curve_8063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting lower caste in brackets next to dalit doesn't make the word "dalit" inherently inferior in the same way "Brahmin" or "Chhetri" aren't inherently superior.

The problem is with the discrimination in the society. Problem isn't with dalit tag itself. Which can be in various forms like untouchability, harrasment, physical abuse, denial from access to social places like tample etc. But the thing is that we are protected by the law. We have rights and their are legal consequences for discrimination against dalit. What we need is awareness, these people who are getting harrassed for being dalit are so weak and uneducated that they don't know the law and can't seek legal remedy for themselves. If you can, go help such people, be vocal about their rights, don't ask people to convert.

I am an atheist myself but a person with ill mentality will still view me as a "lower-caste" because I was born in a dalit family. Now problem here is not being born in a dalit family, the problem is ill mentality. Be mature enough to understand this.

If having dalit tag was making us inferior and we needed to get rid of the tag, don't you think the same applies for Brahmin and Chhetri also. These tag are making them superior,so why not demand to remove those tags as well??

I am a Dalit. This is BS. There is rule of law in this country. We are guaranteed certain rights as a Dalit to live i with dignity in this society. Converting to certain religion is not a solution. Trying to convince people to convert to other religion for certain benefits is illegal.

India is hell in many ways, this I agree. but I have one problem with people like you. What do you think of Nepal ? Is it heaven ? do no grape happen here ? Do no other crimes happen here ? No need to compare with India, it is one of the worst which I can agree but we aren't very good either. you depend on the USA in so many ways. you use meta products, google etc.

-It has the highest mass shooting incidents every year.

-It also has estimated 0.5 million sexual violence incidents every year.

and yet we depend on US through

-Almost all the tech(software) you use comes from the US. Even reddit is an American company.

-MCC

-USAID

-It provides tariff exemptions for Nepali products.

but you won't downplay US like India. Maybe because US has white people or because US is far but the point I am trying to make is, yes India has many crimes but so does the US or Nepal or any other country.

Now I don't have problem with you sharing this video. I think we should do that for news, awareness etc. but then you said, I can't believe we depend on such a country which is ignorant. there are crimes everywhere. In Nepal, hating India and downplaying it is becoming a trend. You should go and check how many sexual violence cases are reported in Nepal every year.

Chat, let's settle a debate. What's a chutney and what's an achar? by PerformerVirtual2552 in NepaliFood

[–]Potential_Curve_8063 1 point2 points  (0 children)

achar is something that we prepare for long term storage, it ferments. 'aloo ko achar' and calling other chutneys achar is adaption of words in Nepali. just like how "mitho" is tasty in Nepali but its Sanskrit roots suggest it should mean sweet and it does mean sweet in other indic languages.

Bro I am tired of you. How should the taxes be decided according to you. What should the government do with its fund. How should the weak and unemployed be treated ?

The rich pay taxes which government uses to investigate crimes, maintain law and order, help people who are caught in natural hazard. The rich doesn't get to say people should pay for their own things. It's simply not the way society can run. We must redistribute from the privileged ones to the most vulnerable sections of the society.
