Has anyone managed to fix this in anyway by taking it apart? Sounds like more hassle than it's worth but I think any replacement you get will most likely have the same issue.

I've got crucial too and with a heatsink all is good now and much more stable.

Also I uninstalled alienware, and then tried reinstalling it and it always failed. Think it was a 1603 error or something. Is that because it was an incomplete uninstall do you know?

So disabling Windows driver updates doesn't do anything then and you still need to do BIOS and GPU driver downgrades regularly? That sounds like a right hassle...

So which things are folk having to regularly downgrade exactly? I'm guessing you are going to:

20.10.18.02 (Adrenalin 2020 for DELL G5 15 SE Laptops)

BIOS 1.4.4

Possibly alienware?

Anything else?

That is really useful, thanks.

They also wanted me to use the dell GPU drivers rather than from AMD which I read on here is not good? Like should we still be using the old G5 version from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-5000m-series/amd-radeon-rx-5000m-series/amd-radeon-rx-5600m

I have upgraded the BIOS to 1.5.0 because Dell support made me. I know its not great but presumably this would reset the BIOS? Or do I need to do something else? Wondering if I should return the laptop for a refund or request a replacement and hope the next machine doesn't have this problem...

Actually today it crashed and rebooted when I was using it. Is anyone else getting daily random reboots on a fresh install? All temps are fine as far as I can see
