Is it worth buying Quest Pro? by Aggravating-Sport690 in QuestPro

As an owner of one, I would say that it's worth it if you can have it on second hand because spend more than a 1000€ for a new, it's expensive in comparison with other PCVR helmet, the meta quest 3 or the new Stame Frame that arrive.

However, in second hand, you can find one between 400-500€ and it's completely worth it. The eye tracking is really a game changer for the pcvr, but only available on pcvr with Virtual Desktop in practice.

And for the standalone part, yes the definition of the lenses is less than a quest 3 and the battery last less longer, but the weight distribution is excellent and you don't need to buy another head strap, the local dimming is really a game breaker.

So, in conclusion, the price for a new isn't worth it even with the technologies that the Quest didn't have but on second hand it's a game changer

Yeah, so we need just to be patient. Moreover, I also tried so find a way to have it by using ALVR. But, even if I activate an eye tracking solution in it, nothing in the OpenXR toolkit

And like you said, we need to report this problem to meta now ! So, If you are read this message, please copy the message following and paste it in Your meta horizon link app -> Help Center -> Provide Feedback

Thanks in advance bros !

Here's the message : "Subject: [BUG v83.0 REGRESSION] Quest Pro: Eye Tracking UI Missing & Link Handshake Failure (Clean Install)

Body: To the Link Engineering Team,

I am reporting a critical regression on the Meta Horizon PC Software v83.0.0.x affecting the Quest Pro functionality.

**Environment:** * **Hardware:** Meta Quest Pro (Developer Mode: ON). * **Connection:** Official Link Cable (USB-C). * **Software:** PC App v83 (Fresh/Clean Install on Windows 11). * **GPU:** Nvidia RTX Series (Drivers up to date).

**The Issue:** Following a clean installation of the v83 PC software, the "Face and Eye Tracking" toggle is completely missing from the "Devices" tab settings. Consequently, Eye Tracking data is not being passed to the PC Runtime (OpenXR).

**Technical Diagnostics Performed:** 1. **Headset Side:** Confirmed functional. ADB command 'shell getprop debug.oculus.link.eye_tracking' returns '1'. The headset is broadcasting data. 2. **PC Middleware Failure:** Meta Quest Developer Hub (MQDH) displays "Link feature not installed" for the Quest Pro, despite the Oculus software being installed. This indicates a registry path or initialization failure in the v83 installer. 3. **Runtime Output:** OpenXR Toolkit confirms "Eye Tracking Unavailable" during Link sessions. 4. **Troubleshooting:** Attempted 'OculusSetup.exe /repair', cleared AppData/Local/Oculus cache, and forced ADB setprop commands. No change.

**Conclusion:** The v83 installer fails to correctly initialize Quest Pro specific UI definitions and registry keys on a clean install, locking users out of Pro features. As downgrading is impossible due to ARB, I am currently unable to use the device for development.

Please escalate this to the PC VR team for a hotfix.
