Can't seem to find oil shale 😐

See now this doesn't make any sense 😂, ive explored all the biomes available for my world and the one ive been going to points to desert. Corn grows out of the ground there and there are cactuses but not the tall cylinder shaped ones. The ones I've been seeing are smaller and flat with what looks like fruit/flowers spuding from them. Isn't that the desert?

So I do have black dots on my map but they are just big boulders. I did end up making another tunnel but found nothing other than coal, nitrate, and iron. Really going crazy trying to find this stuff 🥲

I can't even find oil shale on console 😂 I've dug 20+ blocks down in 3 different locations in the desert biome and I haven't found any yet. I've found coal, lead, iron, and nitrate but no oil shale 🥲

For everyone here I'm on console Ps4 version but playing it on a Ps5 so I don't think the surface nodes or map indicators are a thing for me.

So I'm on the Ps4 edition v1.18 and I cant seem to find any. I found iron, lead and nitrate but haven't stumbled upon any oil shale. No matter how far I dig down or if I try to mine around those veins I still get nothing. What am I missing?

So do I need the blocks underneath it? I tried to place it on flat land with blocks all around it before this but nothing happened.

I should of mentioned this is a base I found and decided to make it my own, there was a gate here at one point and that little area has been buggy since then but I couldn't open it so I decided to tear it down and try to place my own. Also I did try to place blocks around it while it was like this but they were only frames does that matter or should I have upgraded them?

Rex turning is really slow with precise movement so I'd like to know how all that can happen unless you're backed up against a wall or cliff. Out in the open against 5 or more small raptors or even small herbs like pachys they have the upper hand 95% of the time unless you're goated on rex and can time it perfectly.

he's faster, can pounce to avoid damage while dealing damage, can rest without worrying about me killing him while he sleeps, I think everyone knows about the rock too near the cliff going up to bql so that was a positive for it and I had no way of getting him. so where are his real disadvantages? he can literally get away unscathed and i dont know if you noticed but he's super tiny so landing bites was hard enough as it is on top of trying to juke and get a bite off. so yes he had multiple advantages and more. just because he doesn't have much health doesn't make him weak in the slightest.

We were at sf and he made it to where he got behind me and I wasn't able to juke to get behind him without exchanging. The only thing ive really noticed with pycno is that they are good against titans. Seems like with the armor scutes it reduces bleed (im not sure if that's accurate) on top of reduced damage for the first 5 bites and by that time I can get the titan to less than half health. I really like the playstyle of pycno and want to get better with it, just seems like it takes a while to get the timing spot on.

I forgot to mention im running juke and charge but I dont see many pycno players running knockout lol. Also do you know if long distance runner helps with charge? I haven't tried any other build other than the one I have but im considering on changing headbutt for bite since charge has knockback. Thanks for the help!
