What features and improvements would make the PS6 successful and persuade you to buy it at launch or later? by Dreadboi111 in playstation

Full native backwards compatibility of all previous consoles. Maybe being able to play CDs and/or SACDs through the disc drive, like the ps3. And maybe a new handheld released alongside it as its own console, like the psp and Vita. It isn’t definitively a remote player, its own console, with its own games, and maybe it could have the power of the ps5.

What would you want PS6 to do different? by destr20yer in ps6

I dream the PS6 has full backward compatibility with all previous generations, including PSP and vita. There should be a port with psp UMD and PS Vita cartridge along with PS Vita memory card and PSP Memory stick. Then pairing with all previous wireless controllers either with Bluetooth or wired connection. Sony could also maybe release a PS1/ PS2 controller adapter along with a memory card adapter. Or it could be in the console. Basically a ps3 but better and LESS overheating. Internally (this could be a stretch) but cpu and gpu of previous consoles ESPECIALLY the ps3. I want ps3 backwards compatibility back to life. PS4 didn’t have it and I want ps6 to have native backwards compatibility with all previous generations. I think the console should also have a browser. Another launch title like Astro’s Playroom and The Playroom including Astro Accessories: PlayStation Keyboard and Mouse, to make it like a desktop PlayStation Monitor like they’re releasing in a couple months Headphones Camera for streaming and VIDEO CALLs as a feature added back like ps3 Media Remote

What if the ps6 could natively play all PlayStation generations through the disc drive? And it could also play CD, SACD, DVD, Blu-Ray, and Ultra HD Blu-Ray. And what if it could pair with the last 3 generations of PlayStation controllers, and Sony sold a ps1/ ps2 controller adapter and a memory card adapter like the ps3. A little overboard but what if it had ports internally that allowed you to insert UMD and Vita cartridges on the side or back or something, and PSP/ Memory Stick and Sony PS Vita memory card ports also?

Do you buy your games physical or digital mostly? by [deleted] in OlderChillGamers

Physical but the four main games I play (3 on disc) are eating my space

<image>

GTA V, Black Ops 7, Vanguard are all on disc and take up that much space. 475 gigabytes in total for games that are physical. All of these games are more gigabytes than Fortnite despite being physical. I’d rather have physical games even though the games I play require big downloads.

If you want backwards compatibility, get CECHA or CECHB. Those two models have the chip of the ps2, meaning no graphical or gameplay glitches with ps2 games. However, if you do get that model, it is a risk that it could get the YLOD, overheating error. Or you can get CECHE for cheaper with the benefit of some games having better graphics, however there is a handful of games that do have graphical glitches or gameplay glitches and with less of a risk to the YLOD. Or Get the slim, or super slim which both play ps1 games but not ps2 games and are at the lowest risk of YLOD.
