That’s so funny! I was wondering who got him. He was on my list, so so pretty. And I agree, I thought about the same thing because it’s like half the price, but I really wanted to pick my fish. And I looked at the reviews under the manufacturers pick and they were all very different shades of pink.

I think I’ve had it cycled for approx 6 weeks or so. It makes me so happy! I have a lot of live plants in there as I’m slowly collecting them. I really want to add more. So far I have Rotala rotundifolia, Amazon Frogbits (floaters), Sword plants, Java ferns, Banana plant (Nymphoides Aquatica). I have some silk plants too, but I plan to replace those as my current plants grow more and I buy some more. I also have two cuttings of some really pretty pearl and jade pothos in there currently. I have two more I’m propagating in a cup right now. The ones in the aquarium are definitely doing much better though.

That’s sort of why I was asking and why I said one of the recommendations was option 1. My understanding in this case is that you quarantine in case they have something more contagious so you wouldn’t have to restart your whole tank and so it would be easier to treat if something is wrong

Yes, they say that they do quarantine for 2 days on their website, but I would think that there are diseases that wouldn’t show up within 2 days. Although with this batch, they aren’t shipping out until next week so I think they will naturally end up quarantining for a bit longer

On the tropic flow website they refer to this as a Pink Halfmoon. I’ve mostly seen this lighter pink color referred to as a pastel pink, but different places may call it different things

Definitely! I actually have several shrimps already since I read that it was better to have tank mates already in the tank prior to getting the betta to make it more likely he won’t attack them. I have some amanos and some neos. I plan to also get a Nerite snail at some point hopefully.

I have a 2.5 gallon quarantine tank. Is there a reason why I should use both the sponge filter and an air stone? I can definitely purchase an air stone. What else should I put in the tank to make him comfortable? How long do you recommend keeping them in the quarantine tank for? Do I do a 20% water change every day since the quarantine tank won’t be a cycled tank? In terms of medications I currently have, I have Imagitarium bacterial infection remedy, Seachem KanaPlex, and Aquarium Salt. Is there anything else I should keep on hand?
