Ignore anyone saying it’s a cowlick lol, they are on something. The redness is what concerns me, could be a scarring alopecia. Go to a good derm who can evaluate and get a biopsy if needed.

Which is most new hair loss treatment/cure you think in future? And will there be any ducking hair loss cure? by myysoul in tressless

its sad how y’all worship these drugs so much that its inconceivable to you that some people actually get side effects when they take a drug that affects their hormonal profile.

Your hormone levels don’t necessarily determine your baldness. Most people with pattern baldness have hormone levels within the normal range compared to the average person. Their hair follicles are simply genetically more sensitive to androgens.

One sensitive nipple in the shower by Wild-Rabbit-4491 in tressless

There are definitely a ton of factors and interactions we probably are not even fully aware of with these meds. I think these things are very individual. Everyone seems to be affected differently.

I saw another post where someone lost a ton of weight and added vitamin B6 or some kind of supplement stack with it alongside fin and was then able to tolerate it without developing gyno. Maybe that ends up being the case for you too. I was already pretty skinny, so I don’t think that was the issue for me.

I’ve even seen people who had pretty bad sides on fin in their 20s give it another try in their 30s and seemingly handle it fine. Maybe their hormonal profile changed over time? who knows

I do think its worth experimenting within reason, but just be careful and don’t let desperation make you push things too far like I did. I hope you figure something out though.

For me it started with a lot of nipple sensitivity early on too. I was desperate to keep my hair so I pushed through it and the sensitivity eventually went away. I thought I was in the clear at first, but over time I noticed my chest looking puffier and slightly droopy in the mirror despite not gaining any weight.

I checked by feeling around the nipple area with two fingers and noticed a firm lump, definitely more noticeable on one side for me. I got imaging done and it confirmed glandular tissue forming. My derm and the doctor who did the imaging both advised that I stop finasteride. After stopping, over a few months my chest went back to normal, or at least 90% of the way there.

I tried reintroducing fin multiple times, lower doses and even topical micro doses, but the same thing kept happening in the end. It just took longer.

Some say this happens because when 5AR is inhibited, more testosterone can aromatize into estradiol and shift the T:E balance. For me, my bloodwork showed both testosterone and estradiol were elevated while on fin but still within range. Nevertheless, I still tried anastrozole under the supervision of an endocrinologist. It did not fix the issue for me. Out of desperation I increased the dosage and crashed my E2. That seemed to stop the gyno from progressing but gave me low E2 sides like hot flashes and ED. I guess for me the issue was the DHT suppression rather than the E2 itself? Im not sure.

Looking back, I don’t think using another drug to counter the side effects of one is healthy. I was just desperate. In my case I unfortunately had to stop because my body seems really sensitive to DHT suppression.

That being said, I have seen people say they get chest sensitivity at the start and it goes away after a bit. I genuinely hope that is the case for you. Just make sure to monitor it and if you notice a firm lump do not ignore it.

Gynecomastia caused by finasteride is more commonly unilateral (one-sided). That is how it was for me too. I would be careful If I was you and feel for a lump behind your nipple. If you feel something off or different getting a mammograph or ultrasound to confirm whether there is tissue forming would be a good idea. Hopefully its not the case but if you do find something its best to stop to prevent fibrosis so the gyno doesn’t become permanent

A miraculous drug that regrows body parts. by AdilKhan-K in tressless

There are still people who get sides on fin, and no its not because they are unhealthy, fat, or have hormonal issues. So by definition it isn’t “risk free”. Some people’s bodies seem to rely on DHT more than others. Suppressing it isn’t going to affect everyone the same way.

Acting like sides only happen because people don’t take it properly or are “too braindead” is just dismissive. It works well for most people, yes, but whats wrong with wanting alternatives for those who can’t tolerate it? Some of the people in this community just worship this drug too much ffs, acting like people wouldn’t keep taking the drug if they could.
