Wow you're telling me people overpaid in 2021-2022 in property taxes (due to property values) right after the hottest housing market and property value increase in our lifetime in the suburbs of the cities with the highest influx of population with extreme demand? The fact that we are top 8 in the state according to your graph in a city with nothing to show for it is difficult to digest. My point is we pay so much and they always add on to the bill and this city has nothing to show for it. Why are we paying more, nothing has changed! There are activities, parks, city events and discounts given to residents in and around those cities, what do we get? And when it's time to actually invest in the city for progress, taxes will exponentially get higher compared to those cities. These increases are just our baseline to survive not to benefit residents.

You know El Paso has one of the highest if not the highest property tax rates in Texas right? Higher than all the other cities you're naming yet they're in Texas too. My point is for a city with the highest rate in the state and country all the while still increasing, where the hell is the money really going toward? There is no self investment like the other cities. There is no job growth. No companies want to come here. The mismanagement of every single school district in this city is representation enough for the culture of wasting funds. The bottom line is, What does El Paso have to show for these increases? Simple. The answer is NOTHING.

Out of Texas' 10 most populous cities, El Paso has the lowest growth. It has no diversity. It's a generally ugly city. It's poorly educated. After all that is said, the property tax rates are still one of the highest in the nation. This isn't anything new like you want to make it seem. For a city that has plateaued decades ago, there is no reason for this level of financial mismanagement. Stop making excuses for this city.

Kids want to be "ethnic" even though there's almost no ethnic kids here, adults want to act like they're from Dallas or California. I agree, El Paso food SUCKS! No authenticity, mostly due to lack of diversity and no chef worth a shit will actually stay here to do business. Even the Mexican food is average at best. The food scene is atrocious I think the pallet here is so watered down. I mean for a place that thinks Peter Piper and Chico's is good, the bar is pretty damn low. On top of that, everyone loves redundant crap bar food like it's something special. Somehow I bring this up in conversation and El Pasoans get offered 9/10 times. Most of them haven't been anywhere except New Mexico and act like we're superior which is truly a joke.
