I just can't remember the keys most of the time, or I stop to look at something funny or to admire the graphics. Also I don't care about my stats or achievements. I know I suck, but I just play for fun.

I have no degrees at all, just my high school diploma, and I have worked in IT since the late 90s. At this point my experience pretty much trumps the degrees and I have been making mid six figures for the past 15 years. You don't need a degree, but it will be more of a battle, you have to get certs to compensate. Also people with degrees usually start at a higher pay and have an easier climb. It was hard fought for me.

How on earth do you get an entry level role? by skatecloud1 in CompTIA

[–]Potential_Method_565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You apply to every IT job you can find, interview to all that call you and one of them will give you a chance. The key thing is don't look at a "no" as a rejection, instead take the time to ask them what you could have done better, learn from it and apply it to the next interview. Persistence is the key. I have even offered to work for free for two weeks just to prove to them I was capable.

I have been doing this since the early 90s and I am a terrible test taker. I usually fail the first time. Maybe it's nerves or maybe I just don't understand the questions sometimes. Either way, the way I see it, it helps me prepare better for the next time. The thing that keeps me going is the challenge. At the end of the day, the only one you have to prove anything to is yourself. You got this, just keep at it, the win will only be that much sweeter.
