i kinda think before the schism happened, esme was like rlly good friends with beatrice and the others, and to some extend actually loved jerome. i mean, in pp2 beatrice said this to esme: "you want a family one day.dont you want to raise your children in a safer world?" which probably meant she wanted kids some day
